Dream Games: Chrono Cross

Chrono Cross
You may remember a little game called Chrono Trigger. It's considered one of the best games ever created, and the sequel is almost equally superb.

Why PSP?
Square loves remaking games. And the PSP is home to a good number of them: Valkyrie Profile, Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy Tactics. Surely, a Chrono Cross remake will be heading our way.

Is it possible?
Yes. I'd like to think it's quite likely. But, will Square put the effort to make a Rondo of Blood-like remake? Imagine: a fully graphically revamped Chrono Cross with Chrono Trigger added as a bonus. It would be the most value-packed UMD ever created. Hmm ... doesn't sound like Square's into that "value" thing. Regardless, both Chrono games are good enough to warrant a revisiting.

Guess What? You can play Chrono Cross, and almost all psx games on the PSP.

Its called custom firmware, ever heard of it?

AndyCat: Guess what, genius? They have posts concerning custom firmware all the time. So, yeah... I think it's safe to say they've heard of custom firmware. Did you think you were special?

Considering Chrono Cross is my favorite game of all time... Add in that this game is what I thought of when they announced PS1 emulation... YES I WANT THIS!

It was the first game I put in my PS3 just out of principal. I had to make sure BC was good enough to get rid of the PS2.

Other great games from PS1 are the 3 Spyros (when made by Insomniac), and the two Tomba games.

chrono cross doesnt work 100% on the emulator anyway. it crashes at a certain point.

Now this would be cool and if both Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger where in a pack in that would be awesome.

Plus if both where remade into 3D that would be neat and I would even pay 50 for these games.

Even with custom firmware its still not fully "playable" seeing that you can't switch to disc 2 without using cwcheat (saving the game manually, transfering it over to the EpsxE PS1 emu on your computer then you can play disc 2 on your PSP).

So yes I agree, a full version of Chrono Cross would be nice.

Valkyrie Profile got a nice little graphical boost. Nothing amazing, but nice. So if Square would re-release Chrono Cross, they would definitely up the quality.

square enix does like to do the remakes. And with psp lagging behind the ds, it seems like this would be a good idea.

AndyCat, when I say special, I mean "Special Olympics" special. It escaped me, but joe is absolutely right. This doesn't even work close to 100%. For shit's sake, it hangs when you try to bring up the menu screen. Sure it "exists", but it isn't even close to playable. Please stop talking out of your ass. Thanks, bud.

If they release chrono cross on the network it'd be way better, mainly because it'd be really cheap, like 4 times less than buying a psp game remake, although you probably wont get Chrono Trigger as a bonus. Anyway don't Nintendo hold some rights to the Chrono Trigegr game, or is it all just Square-Enix.
