A GDC video sandwich for hungry PS3 fanboys
It was a big, big day for the mighty PS3 as lots of great information and demos flowed out of the Game Developers Conference.
Up above, you can see the PS3's answer to Xbox Live (and Second Life), PlayStation Home, in action. And down below, you'll see a new genre being invented before your very eyes via that quirky new multiplayer platformer, LittleBigPlanet. Nice!

I don't know if anyone else agrees, but Phil H., shortly after the other guy comes up, (1:11) looks/acts like Mr. Burns from Simpsons! LOL! Cool stuff from Sony. I'm starting to feel a little more confident about my console now. I was thinking of getting a Wii in a while, but hell Sony may do me a favor and save me a few hundred bucks if it puts out a few games like this!

as a ps3 owner, I have to admit that's gay as hell. It's like a lame grown up version of the sims
Absolut @ Mar 8th 2007 4:10AM
@5: I have to say i agree with you, i'm not into The Sims kind of crap but who knows right? At least is free...

@5 & 6
I disagree, there is no health and stuff like that you have to worry about. No jobs none of that bull. It's not really a sims thing.
If you think its gay fine, i'm not going to convince you otherwise, but I'm sure you'll use it!

I don't own a ps3, but now I might! This is big for me. Here's why.
PSU (Phantasy Star Universe)had lobbies similar to what Sony is doing. You have a character, a room and can socialize.
What makes PSHome so cool for me is clan meetings will be more fun. The fact you can meet up with friends before a game is cool, display your music and movies... I'm seriously excited about this. I hate Playstation for killing the Dreamcast, but I will probably get one now. It's almost guaranteed

(I hate Playstation for killing the Dreamcast)
Sega abandoned the dreamcast sony had nothing to do with it!
Brandon @ Mar 8th 2007 12:06PM
Sega's pre Dreamcast blunders had more to do with killing the dreamcast than sony could have ever hoped. I mean they went through so many half baked consoles in a very short time (32x, Nomad, Gamegear, Sega CD, Sega Saturn) and with each failure, it weakened their ability to support then next system.
But littlebigplanet looks incredibly fun. Just think of all the people who make line-rider stuff. But with this not only can you create and show off, but people can play it. Its going to be huge. And the possibilities for level design is almost limitless.
As for home, im incredibly excited about the possibilities. I can have all my gaming friends over and have them listen to my music, watch my videos, and then we can decide to play a multiplayer game. Afterwards, we can come back to my apartment and talk about it. With developers getting into the mix and making content, it can be huge. Imagine david jaffe being interviewed within HOME. Or being able to see a new trailer before anywhere else gets it. And on top of it all, everyone there is a playstation gamer, so you can easily find someone and ask them about what online games they play, and you can go with them and play against them.

I thought it was Sim'ish too, I look, but in execution and poential, it's more, way more. Interested, yes. I'll try it, but if they let it get stagnant, it's over. Watch out for the PSCasino and PSUniversity coming to HOME Fall 2007. Followed by PSHorse races where YOU are the Jockey and others can place bets.PSHome rehab seminars in Summer 2008. You heard it here first!

Is it just me or is GameVideos.com cocking up a bit? It takes a minute to load 10 seconds of video and then it just randomly stops and I have to restream it all again!
