Virgin gives it up for PS3

Virgin Megastores has announced that they will be Sony's "official launch partner" when the console hits UK shores later this month. The Oxford Street location in London will play host to the festivities."Virgin Megastores is the perfect partner for the launch of PS3," said Ray Maguire, Managing Director SCE UK. "We are well aware how patient and loyal our customers have been waiting for PS3 to arrive and fully intend to reward them with the launch they deserve. Plans are already well underway and we are working with local authorities to ensure we delivery the best console launch ever."
All this launch talk sure does bring back memories.... stabbings, thefts, shootings and general drunkeness made it the best console launch ever. Can the UK top it?

This DOES seem like good news, though, yes?
It reminds me of that huge emporium for electronics in Australia, the main liquidator, who said they would only support Blu-Ray.
Virgin sells art, and it's encouraging that they support ps3.
I'm going fanboy now, I can tell.
I think what I mean, is this:
It's not that they shouldn't support xbox360, that's fine. It's just that I'm so tired of the hate that Sony gets.
The ps3 really appeals to a different fanbase than the xbox360.
And it seems that all the hate comes from people who just don't like it's vibe.
And there's a lot of that.
But I can't see anything wrong.
I'm willing to accept the 360, even with it's overheating and all...
And I know it has some good games.
But I don't feel that it's special. The whole vibe of using an xbox360 just doesn't feel the same as when I power up a ps3.
It's like... you always get this feeling of a bunch of capitalists, behind it.
The ps3, like the ps2, seems surrounded by artists.
Now, one is not better than the other.
The 360's have their point of view and we have ours.
I would like us to co-exist.
If I didn't feel such hostility from them, I would feel more inclined to pick up a 360.
But there is a huge rift.
I guess it's really down to economics.
Just think: if we could all have all three game systems, for $50/each, we would ALL have every single one of them, and we'd be fans of each one.
I mean, think about this: You spend $150, you get a Nintendo Wii, an Xbox360, and a PS3.
The forums would be nothing but gushing.
It's all economics, that's all. Because we have to choose.
If we didn't have to choose, if we woke up one morning, and ALL of us had a Wii, a 360, and a PS3, the forums would change instantly and we'd all have boners to kingdom come.

Same here. I am a die hard Ninty fanboi - but really get put off by the sheer venom towards PS3. ANY NEWS gets twisted negatively against it.

Good, I except the Ps3 too, but I have never had my 360 overheat.

What? capitalists? If you really feel that when you turn on a 360. You might need to get that checked on man. I mean if you feel like it was made my capitalists, what do you feel when you turn on a ps3? I hope the same way since, sony is capitalists too. Never in my life have I ever been around a product and felt that it was capitalist. would you feel better if it was communists you felt when you turned on your console?

Fans for each one, and all 3 companies would be in debt up their eye balls.lol I see what your saying though, but just because someone has all 3 consoles doesn't we all we'll like everyone. For me, I have never liked the playstation controller, so I probally would never play it that much, becuase I find the controller uncomfortable.
The Wii is fun for alittle while but, it loses it's uniqueness (to me) after a month or so.

Hey 3 cubed weed doesn't make you violent, but PCP however...I don't know how excited those guys are to get the PS3, but Virgin is the right guy to kick it off over there. Virgin represents cool and cutting edge in their market; I don't think we have an equivalent in the states that doesn't appear to be capitalist assholes (Wal-Mart). It could be huge. Their release titles are much better than ours were. Could be a trampling or 2; it could be great!
