Gundam Musou -- PS3's second #1 title in Japan

The PlayStation 3 doesn't have that many games. It's true. Some may even say with a straight face that about half of the games available... aren't that good. While in America, the Gundam franchise is usually regarded with a scoff and an oft-muttered "crazy Japanese" insult, Japan loves them some Gundams. This is very apparent with the release of Gundam Musou, which in its first week of release, snagged up around 171,000 units. That's a little under 25% of all PS3 owners in Japan, according to VGCharts. Speaking of that website... the PS3 has crossed the 2 million mark! Hooray!This is the second PS3 title to take the #1 spot in Japan... the other was Virtua Fighter 5, selling about 49,000 units during its release week. As you can see, Gundam Musou sold a heck of a lot more. The rest of the bestseller chart is riddled with DS titles... no surprise there. But, still, we crossed the 2 million mark! Perhaps we'll quickly pass the 3 million mark upon Europe's launch. We'll see. This was a double-whammy post! You got a bestseller report and a console sales blurb. Aren't you glad?

Make that 2,000,001. Just got my tax return today picking up a 60gigger tonight along with Virtua Fighter & Resistance, Motorstorm coming for my birthday in 2 weeks and Oblivion shortly after that. I am so friggin excited.

Umm, I guess you'd have to quantify 'good' but if you look at, say, metacritic (http://www.metacritic.com/games/ps3/) and sort by rating, there's more "good" games than bad games, by their standards. 17 games with an average score of 75 or more, console has been out for less than 4 months. That's more than 4 good games/month.
Seems fine to me for a launch...

I think it's safe to say that the Euro launch will easily add a million (or close to it), seeing as apparently the presales have been insane, and Sony will actually have supply to meet the demand.

Good choice Wreckhart, you're going to enjoy it, especially with that lineup of games. And I agree about the more good than bad, so far only Full Auto has been truly awful as far as what I've played. Only a couple of really excellent titles, but it's not all crap.

actually there are no bad games in any console just depends in what kind of player judge it, if he or she hates X genre he will say X game is bad as shit

Ugh... NextGen wars should NEVER be referenced as a source of console sales data. They are literally pulling it out of their asses and passing it off as fact.
