I think the pricing strategy is right. I live in Belgium and pre-ordered mine(and waiting!).
300 in historically wrong because Iranians weren't as shown in the movie. They should apologize all Iranians(in my opinion of course)
Hater @ Mar 13th 2007 2:59PM
@Seltoon
First, 300 isn't a documentary and it's not intended to be a historically accurate document, it's a comic adaptation of a legend. Second, those are Persians, not Iranians. Third, you don't mention the mechanically enhanced people as being historically inaccurate or many other unreal aspects. Get a clue.

@425
Not funny or cute. Lame would be my assessment.

@Hater ...
Iranians are Persians. Their history are linked and the vast majority of the populations are Persians.
Nick James @ Mar 13th 2007 5:47PM
The Persian empire sprawled over much of the Middle East. If I remember correctly, Iraq is the "main portion" of the old Persian empire. Although the depictions in the film (and the graphic novel) are not based on fact at all.. it's heavily stylized and dramatized and emphasized and other words that end in ized. Just wait until the Prince of Persia movie. You'll still have an inaccurate description of the Persian empire, but hey, at least it will be in a positive light, eh?
Killer @ Mar 13th 2007 7:32PM
For crying out loud. The movie 300 wasn't a documentry it was based on a comic book, Like nick explained) yet the comic book was a historical interpretation of the Actual battle. Also the battle really did happen, you may think that there is no possible way but it did. It's called military tatics. Passes were very difficult to get through, until the invention of the airplane, your best defence of your country was the mountains. you only need a small amount of people to take out the enemy becuase they have to funnel through in a smaller group. Plus the Spartans were a military kult society so they were the Delta force of the time. Also the Persians are Iranian, Only reason iraq was in the center of the empire was because of the fall of Babalonia when they evaded. Never called an Iranian an Arab, they will tell it to your face that they are Persian, because they are.
So Hater, you are in conclusion, a dumbass. Also you trust wikipedia? hahahaha omg that's funny.
Hater @ Mar 13th 2007 9:42PM
@Killer
I never said that it was a documentary, I said that it WASN'T a documentary, please learn to read before burying your foot in your mouth. I also never said that the battle didn't happen, I said it was a legend, again, learn to read. Being a legend doesn't indicate that it didn't happen it indicates that the interpretation of the historical event has taken on legendary proportions. The legend is that the odds were 1000-to-1 or worse. There's no way that the Persians had that many people to throw at the Greeks at that time.
As for Iran being Persia, to Persians the country was always Iran, to the rest of the world it wasn't Iran until 1935. In 1935 the Iranian government requested those countries which it had diplomatic relations with, to call Persia "Iran," which is the name of the country in Persian. In 1935 it certainly wasn't an empire anymore either.
Again a legendary empire which modern peoples wish to associate themselves with does not make them members of that empire.
Even Frank Miller says that the story has little to do with history and is his interpretation of the events. Needless to say, he's not a historian. The Spartans are also legendary in scope and can hardly be considered "Delta Force" as they were a vast people with many more people than just a fighting force. Again, legend...
Get a grip on reality rather than fiction and legend. All in all, Killer, you would be the dumbass here. Congratulations.

@Killer
There’s nothing wrong with Wikipedia. Saying someone’s not credible for quoting Wikipedia is just a stupid cop-out comment.

@Laurens Holst
Obviously Killer believes that he/she/it knows better. Couldn't take the time to comprehend the post, but Killer knows better. LOL.
