Because like most people who make fun of others they feel insecure and need to make fun of another console to prove theirs is "better". Meanwhile they don't wanna give time for the playstation 3 to get on its feet and start running. It all boils down to one thing......fear.

Fear of sorts. They've made a commitment. Not everyone can afford to spend $1000 on both consoles, and be it impatience or they are genuinely convinced that the 360 is superior, the point is, they made a $400 investment that they don't want to see fall to the wayside.
Which is why, since I have a PS3, I go out miles of my way to buy Blu-Ray over DVD. You should do the same.

I understand that they don't want to see their console fail but it's not gonna happen. The 360 is good. It's not my console of choice but I like it. There is no reason for them to be so malicious towards the ps3.
And for your blu ray comment: I totally agree. I have not purchased any dvds since i got my ps3. Its blu-ray all the way.

I allways had faith in the PS3 and i knew it would deliver.
You must remember when the PS2 came out the games looked crap but now they look just as good as the xbox
I know that it will take a while for game developers the come to grips with Blu-Ray but they do look out MS
because the games will look Phenomenal.

Well, because of GDC, it has basically come down to a test of will with me. On one side, There is the $500-600, on the other there is LittleBigPlanet. It'll basically come down to a few things, Can I hold out for a price break before LittleBigPlanet and Monster Hunter 3 come out or not. With each new exclusive they show, it makes it harder and harder to wait for a price break.
The day Monster Hunter 3 comes out for PS3 in America, is the day I will have a PS3 for sure, but will my fortitude be broken before then? If they keep having shows like the one at GDC, chances are high.

I feel PS3 owners are so insecure about their $600+ investment that they stay quiet and start to boast about how 360 owners talk about the PS3, and I feel it really immature, really uncool, two thumbs down. why would you wanna do that when you can play Blue Ray? for all other movies that arnt on blue ray, i buy standard DVDs... i don't wana to support HD-DVD in anyway... the success of the PS3 relys on the success of the Blu Ray drive... go Blu-Ray...

I've owned just about every console ever made and I just don't know if I like the direction the PS3 is heading. It seems like Sony are making the PS3 out to be the next Myspace instead of a gamers console. I play my 360 the most mainly because online multiplayer is awesome on XBL and there's a great selection of games for the 360 now. I haven't bought a PS3 yet because as of right now there's nothing I can do on a PS3 (that interests me) that I can't on a 360. A $600 Blu-Ray player is nice and all but I buy a video game console to play video games.

@15 MS took a different approach than Sony did with how they desinged what comes with their console, the HD-DVD add on is a great example of that. You can criticize MS's strategy all day long but there's over 10 million 360's sold so people obviously like their freedom of choice. PS3 fans agree with Sony and X360 fans agree with MS...no one's wrong it's just thier preference. Also, Vista Home Premium OEM (the version that most people will get) is $120 which is very reasonable for an OS that is as good as Vista is.

I can see why people support the Xbox 360. It's setup so well, being user-friendly, gamer-centeric, gives life to classics (think achievements), and revolves around a fun experience. The PS3 is the antithesis of that. I cannot see why people think the PS3 is worth anything in its current state. I find it so anti-fun it actually bothers me.
While people here blame 360 fans for being "insecure" because the "PS3 is so much better", I sit in my living room, playing the 360...while a room mate plays his next to me, and I wonder if the black taco sitting next to the old Xbox will ever repay my $600 via play time (FFXIII will have to be about 110+ hrs to even start showing value). When I have to force myself to finish Resistance...the PS3's top game...it's not a good sign.
The next upcoming game I'm looking forward to for the PS3 is a game I've played several times on the original Xbox: Ninja Gaiden. More games are trickling in, but that is still rather sad.
Prattling on about the $200 difference doesn't address the real issue. In my case, money has nothing to do with it for me. It's entertainment value. Judging from my experience in that a hopped up gamecube is more fun to play, the PS3 is worth about $10 right now.
And for the inevitable question: Why do you bother coming here? I do own the console after. Besides that, I come here, just as I do with PSPfanboy, looking for the glimpse of hope that I can get something out of Sony's latest products, and soon. So far...the only hope I have for either unused system involves Final Fantasy.
To date, I think putting the "con" in console sums it up quite nicely.

My complaint is that these fanboys are being ridiculous and they continue to come in PS3 related forums to say how theyre machine is better. im not critizing MS strategy. Hell i gotta give them credit. They've done a damn good job. My whole point is if you like your system so much and you feel "secure" then why do you have to bash the other system. You dont see any Wii supporters in here now do you. If anything at this time they are the ones MS has to worry about so why are these ms fanboys in here saying 360 rulez.

I had the 360 and it died (big surprise) My friends have 360's and some of them on on there 3rd one (red rings) I know own a ps3 and the only reason I bought one was strictly because the ps3 has zero hardware problems!!! I don't think either machine is better than the other when it comes to games. If I had to chose which one is better from a game only stand point it would be the 360 simply because there are more choices of games. But untill MS fixes that white toaster over they call the xbox360 I will not own one again. I can turn on my ps3 everyday and play that kick ass game motorstorm and never have to worry about it not turning on! No 360 fanboy can make that claim about the 360. There will always be doubt on that machine until MS fixes all the hardware failure problems period.

I swear most of the people on these forums are complete assholes! Everybody is so fucking worried about which system is the best, xbox360 or PS3! Do you people do the same thing with your fucking televisons, refridgerators, cars, motorcycles, microwaves etc. Because you bought it so now it's the best? If the god of game consoles came down from video game heaven and said: Hey all you assholes! The nintendo Wii is the best system on the fucking planet! are you all going to scramble to sell your ps3's and xbox 360's to get a nintendo wii??? Probably not, so why doesn't everybody just grow up and shut the fuck up and quit trying to make what you bought acceptable to everybody else!!!

There's good things and bad things on that post (comments on the PS3 after I bought it). To add to that: it looks like crap on anything but HDMI. I had monster component cables and the menu font glow was annoying on the eyes. The text entry is horrible, YDL is a joke as is the web-browsing, there's no games that you can't get elsewhere (yet), and the OS just isn't setup very well (downloads, navigation, etc). The lack of rumble removes from the experience as well (due to recent events, hopefully they fix this). And having to be sure to set that controller down carefully, or your movie will be triggered in fast forward is aggravating.
Good things: any 2.5" SATA drive will work in it, about any bluetooth headset will work, and the ability to install a secondary OS is a semi-perk to those who would go through the trouble of doing it.
(No, I still don't consider Blu-ray a good thing.)
The good is smashed by the bad in the end. It feels like the PSP...it's a bunch of extra unnecessary media features and very little in the gaming department. No matter how much the PS3 wants to be a PC, its dream just won't come to fruition. It's a movie player that does awkward browsing. That's about it at this point in time (looking forward to the first substantial update).

And finally @ the people saying "omgz they are teh insecurelolol." What are you talking about? Just because someone has this special thing called an opinion doesn't mean they are insecure. I don't have to say the ps3 sucks to make me think my 360 is better. All I have to do is look at the game library and i know for a fact its better. And Have any of you who are like "OMG MICROSHIT SUCKZSZ!!" Even played a 360, or how about the god that is Gears of War. I'm gonna go ahead and assume you haven't. Because like suicideninja said, its about entertainment value. When the PS3 gets fun, maybe ill drop 700$ bucks for one, until then ill stick with my 360.

Read some of the articles on "problems with the xbox360" There are alot of people that had defective systems out of the box!!! I read about a few people that had their system for three weeks and it died. They sent it in and MS wanted to charge them for shipping! After 1 hour on hold and fighting with a manager shipping charges were waived. three weeks later they got a 360 back that was refurbished and looked like it was dragged behind a truck for 30 miles!!!! There are quite a few stories like this on the internet so it has nothing to do with the fact the the ps3 is only 5 months old. You and I both know that MS has got alot of problems with the 360 and sony had none with the ps3. It is just pure fact.
