WarHawk confirmed -- Blu-ray release, not download [update 1]

In yet another episode of "Watch the Bloggers Jump Through Hoops to Accurately Unfurl the Truth Behind WarHawk" we present to you, hopefully, the final word direct from Sony. Don't get us wrong -- WarHawk is still an online-only game, but it's still being sold on a hard disc. IGN got this response from a Sony representative: "Officially, Warhawk will be released as a Blu-ray-based product. It will see release in late summer."

Officially. Should be the end all, eh? Phil Harrison did say at GDC it would be a downloadable title, but he might have gotten his wording mixed up with "online only" -- it's tough to explain, but the mismatch of interpretations makes sense. A game that will only be played online? It's natural to think that you'd get the game from the internet, then, or something. In any case, WarHawk will be on store shelves. Hopefully at a price less than other games, since it is just an online title. Please?

[update: Sorry to get your hopes up, but this update is boring. I accidentally set this to publish yesterday, so overnight it sat in yesterday's news. It's supposed to be published now. As in today. Uh, it's technical, but it needed to be explained in case anyone noticed this news moving around the main page.]
