Warhawk hits the ground running
After we posted some great looking Warhawk aerial footage, folks were wondering if the game's ground-based gameplay would be as impressive.
It is.
Looking beautiful, the land-based battles are very, very fast paced. This is going to be Quake in vehicles (I don't think your going to last long on foot). This game can't hit the PLAYSTATION Store fast enough!

It's a shame it wont be released as a full game, it looks like it had a lot of potential as a full game. Ohh well, let's just hope Sony will have download speeds and background downloading improved by the time of its release to the Playstation store so we wont have to wait forever to download it.

I for one am happy they dropped the single player mode. Im way sick of a crappy storyline propping up a great multiplayer engine. This looks great, reminds me of the Battlefield 1942 games... bring it on Sony
Dreadhead541 @ Mar 18th 2007 3:55PM
i wish they would have used a brighter color palette, but other than that the game looks awesome
Liquid @ Mar 18th 2007 4:01PM
wow the ground game is almost as good as the dog fights :) instant purchase
Josh L. @ Mar 18th 2007 4:22PM
So wait, no ground-air/air-ground action?
mike @ Mar 18th 2007 4:31PM
Reminds me of battlefield 2 the good old days but i doubt this game will have as much squad implementation but i can hope.
For those who dont knoe BF2 allowed you to for squads and place waypoints on the map for the squad (as squad leader)... really promoted good team work

For a game coming out almost a full year after the systems release, and something thats been in development for a full while longer than that, I'm thoroughly disappointed. Yeah it looks like a ton of fun, and that alone will be worth the purchase for me. But the decidedly last gen environments and effects certainly lead me to wish for more. Yeah, for sure its got high def graphics and beautiful textures, but if you run over a bench in this current gen era, you expect it to not stand there like its indestructible. Explosions look horrid. With the full capability of the PS3 behind them, and more than enough time to tap into it, I'm really surprised that this is all they could come up with.

^^ you are stupid to base gfx on this shitty video go get an HD version and see the differences
@Josh L.
yes it has ground-air/air-ground action this vid was based on ground play for ppl to see how it plays on land quite impressive if you ask me. but it is ground-air/air-ground action if you watch the vid again you will see a bit of ground-air/air-ground action fighting.
@Someone
it is unknown how it will be distributed wait until a final conformation first before jumping to conclusions

I'm going to like this game! This is what Star fox assault should have been. I hope they put out a demo of the game.
massive_98 @ Mar 19th 2007 4:32PM
Does anyone know when this will be released?
If you find out send email to massive_98@hotmail.com

Liquid, I wasn't bitchin about the graphics. We can all see, even in shittier vids, where this game shines. But the environments are bland and uninteresting, and the effects are really bad. I've seen better explosions in Black, a last gen title of nearly a year ago. No amount of HD high quality uber video will make these effects and environments any less shitty. You can have the prettiest graphics engine ever made, but if the designers aren't putting anything in it, its a total waste.
Jason @ Mar 18th 2007 6:25PM
Beast. Hopefully the game lobby will be well developed/organised, and the small arms have some variety. If not it looks like you're a dead man walking on foot...
Arno @ Mar 18th 2007 8:22PM
Explosions look really meh.
Burnt Meatloaf @ Mar 18th 2007 8:43PM
Real is Brown(TM)! Just because you want to be dirty and moody doesn't mean blue has to be banned. Compare war games to war movies.
*Kris: "But the environments are bland and uninteresting, and the effects are really bad."
Yeah, I agree. We could really use some bizarre off-the-wall kind of shooters. These war games all look the same to me, even when they play different. The blast sounds are pretty convicing, though.

Looks AMAZING.

Looks like a hardcore version of Hardware Online Arena. If it is priced well it will be an instant purchase!

Get a good look at the vehicles in this game, as this you will probably never see them online....People will do what they always do, setup a game, turn off all the vehicles, and play the same damn level over and over. So even though I am getting this game, I know all the 1 level only idiots out there will ruin it for everyone else.....Can anyone say "Bridgetoofar"?
Deorum @ Mar 19th 2007 2:38AM
@20. Actually if you create game I believe you can probably turn off all those things in a unranked game setting. I'm pretty sure they're going to have "ranked game" where everything would be turned on and such. Just a guestimate.
James @ Mar 19th 2007 10:05AM
This game reminds me of the gameplay in C&C Renegades multiplayer, which was a ton of arcade-ish combat fun. Any word on voice support? It's really getting sad that Sony can't get better support from its third party developers on this. Voice-support really is a necessary feature.
Other than that, I'm really looking forward to an all out multiplayer BF-2 clone action game.
jsn @ Mar 19th 2007 10:55AM
it's funny that people are pretending they're so eager for this game. It looks completely average to me. The gameplay is rehash and the graphics are lackluster. Basically, it offers what most every other current PS3 game offers in terms of uniqueness, ie, NONE.
