Fuck Devil May Cry Now, until it's exclusive to sony again im am saying fuck devil may cry, as a matter of fact im no a fan of capcom no more those stupid bitches.
PS: I hope this is just a April Fools Prank and that capcom will give microsoft there money back and take resident evil and devil may cry as exclusives and cancel the work they already did for the 360 and just transfer it to a reliable console with plenty of potential
Torian Broadnax @ Mar 22nd 2007 3:15PM
You All Know that Sony isn't going to lose FF13 and MGS4 anyway but there next move is to buy out take-two and epic games. Next they need to sew Capcom for false advertising and instead of sewing for money sew for some exclusives. Just throwing some ideas around.
Dolla Dolla @ Mar 22nd 2007 3:44PM
Ummm ... calm down there, buddy. Forgive Capcom for attempting to pull in some cash so they can continue to bring you a franchise many enjoy.
I mean, God forbid they actually succeed. Then they might make more games. The horror!
:P
Strider @ Mar 22nd 2007 3:47PM
Capcom can suck my nuts!!!
Lp47 @ Mar 22nd 2007 6:01PM
capcom screwed sony over. why do they support xbox. devil may cry was a good exclusive and now its gone.
Erren @ Mar 22nd 2007 4:55PM
If you're that mad at Capcom I suggest telling that to them in person. Go to their website and ask a question and you can write a message to them.
silence @ Mar 22nd 2007 4:35PM
You mean suing? Sewing is how you make clothes numbnuts...
You Fanboys are fuckin idiots. Get a life and enjoy playing games you inbred losers. Capcom is a company that wants to make $$$.
Oh and by the way...
Final Fantasy and MGS4 will be one the 360 soon enough! Quote me on that nerds!
Vince UK @ Mar 22nd 2007 4:50PM
Ok silence, no need to be a pillock.
Four insults in six lines, how rude.
silence @ Mar 22nd 2007 5:15PM
Well people should quit being so stupid. Get a grip kids! If your going to boycott Capcom then know that it will only shift them one step closer to going 360 exclusive. PS Fanboys need to enjoy GAMES and forget loving Sony so much. I love all consoles because I'ma gamer and not a Fanboy. Fanboys are corporate tools...
Enough said!
Colin @ Mar 22nd 2007 5:17PM
A Good Game is a Good Game. Regardless of whether or not it comes out on an additional platform. So while I'm sad Sony lost the DMC4 exclusivity from a business aspect, but as a gamer I really don't care.
It's not like the game ISN'T coming to the PS3. Let the 360 owners have their Dante. We're getting it too. :p

mccomber @ Mar 22nd 2007 6:06PM
That looks pretty damn good, even if it is just more of the same DMC, and regardless of which platform it's on.
And hey crazy fanboys, you do realize if you refuse to buy the game because it went to both platforms, that just makes the sales for the ps3 look that much worse as far as Capcom is concerned, right? If you want games to go exclusive, buy the multi-platform titles and show developers which userbase is going to support them.
Erren @ Mar 22nd 2007 6:46PM
I own both PS3 and 360 and as far as I'm concerned, I can play 1-4 on the PS3 but only 4 on the 360 so I'll definitely get the PS3 version.
bootsielon @ Mar 22nd 2007 7:14PM
If capcom wants to make money and not sound like huge hypocrites (or Microsoft's bed partner), then they should port Lost Planet and Dead Rising. It's that simple.
I'm happy with DMC and DMC3 backwards compatibility, and until Lost Planet and Dead Rising are ported (or their sequels released on PS3), I can wait to buy anything Capcom next-gen related. Besides, now the game will not take advantage of PS3 nor 360, and it'll sadly fit on a single DVD, meaning it will be short, or that cut-scenes will be eliminated.
I mean, I do own both 360 and PS3, but if DMC4 wasn't an exclusive, then they should have announced it since the beginning in the first place, like they did with Resident Evil.
This only shows how Crapcom doesn't really believe much in the quality of their sequels, I mean, titles, and their power (or lack thereof) to sell consoles. They could have simply seen how well it did on PS3, and if it didn't do well, they could have just ported it. At least that would have shown some trust in the quality of their own titles.
Allen @ Mar 22nd 2007 7:28PM
He sounds like Link!
sam @ Mar 22nd 2007 7:32PM
This isn't about Sony and it's not about Microsoft, it's about economical truths. This generation it would be insane to limit your game (Whatever that game may be) to one console. Why? Because unlike last gen where the PS2 was king and the Xbox was a distant second, the Xbox 360 is now king, with the PS3 a distant second (In terms of sales. The PS3's sales are shit right now and Capcom knows it) In the end, if you add poor PS3 sales in the US to great sales in Japan, and reverse that for the 360, the PS3 and the 360 might tie in terms of consoles sold, but in the US? Xbox 360 is king.
Kudos to Capcom for realizing that there are millions of gamers who can't afford a PS3 (I can, but I'd rather play Devil May Cry 4 with Xbox Live support instead of the horrible PS3 online) and that they will sell double the units by putting it on another console. Thanks
Erren @ Mar 22nd 2007 7:32PM
Agreed, bootsielon.
WebMaster @ Mar 22nd 2007 8:12PM
You know boot, you're fanboy ragings are reaching fever pitch. So, I'm going to have to take my Sony hat off and speak my mind.
I also own a PS3, and 360. I had HIGH hopes for the PS3, but am honest enough to realize the huge mistakes Sony has made, and now they're coming home to roost. Again, if you want to direct your fanboy induced rage at someone, point it at the 1 company that is at the root of it: Sony. Their Arrogance. Their attempt to push proprietary tech. Again. Sure, BR is doing GREAT now, thanks to cannibilizing the PS3 market. That cost pushed the price of the PS3 out of the reach of the masses. Now, MS & Nintendo are establishing a user base that the PS3 is going to have a damn hard time catching. As we touched on earlier, an immediate PRICE CUT, is the only thing that can turn this around, perhaps within time, to quit hemorraging the few exclusives left by rapidly growing their install base relative to MS and Nintendo. Also, early adopters, such as myself and others who who are blinded by corporate loyalty, are beginning to wonder why the hell we spent the money we did on the PS3, for all those exclusives we thought we were going to get.
And finally, this little jewel from you really shows your lack of perspective, and establishes you've been drinking from the Corporate Kool-Aid fountain...again:
"This only shows how Crapcom doesn't really believe much in the quality of their sequels, I mean, titles, and their power (or lack thereof) to sell consoles. They could have simply seen how well it did on PS3, and if it didn't do well, they could have just ported it. At least that would have shown some trust in the quality of their own titles."
Let's see, clever use of fanboy term now deriding Capcom by referring to them as "Crapcom"...how old are you?
Obviously, you've never endured an economics course in your life, as evidenced by the next portion of your statement.
Paraphrasing: "Put a product out on the smallest intall base and see how it does...if it fails, it's only Capcoms venture capital out the window, and hopefully Capcom can savage what's left to do a down and dirty port."
Real Smart Boot. I would love to see the CFO's at Capcom sell that ROI (return on investment) to their shareholders. This move by Capcom doesn't infer any lack of trust in their titles, it infers a lack of trust in the PS3 install base. Wake Up and lay off the Kool Aid.
Now, with that fanboy crap out of the way, am I happy? Hell no. My only solace is that this bitch slapping that Sony is taking will wake them up, and get the price down on the PS3, and hopefully this'll be a lesson for the next Sony console. Make us a game console, and market it as a game console, and price it as a game console. That will bring Sony back into dominance in the home. I still shudder at how Sony blew it. I understand MS giving them a run for the money. MS has the bucks to do it, but when Nintendo is too...well...not much more needs to be said.
WebMaster @ Mar 22nd 2007 8:18PM
@ Sonyownsall
You are a glittering example of the worse type of fanboy.
It is you and your ilk, with your self defeating logic, that scares me for the future of my PS3. Former Sony exclusives, suddenly become shit because they're no longer so, and so you decide to boycott the devs/publisher.
That will only HURT PS3 owners, idiots such as yourself will not consider those consequences. I am almost convinced, after reading your posts, that FF & MGS will most likely be released on the 360 as well.

Actually, CAPCOM does not have any obligation to make exclusives for SONY unless they have some LEGAL PAPERS SIGNED saying that will be exclusive for . They can't be sued. Actually, even if Capcom made a press statement that DMC4 is a PS3 exclusive they could go back on their word because:
a) From a business standpoint, they can't afford to lose money
b) There's no law saying that a press release = legal contract
c) They are called THIRD PARTY PUBLISHERS because they're not owned by any of the competing companies (for console dominance at least)
=p
WebMaster @ Mar 22nd 2007 9:28PM
My gawd, but your grasp of the english language as well as your verbal sparring abilities astound me. I've never seen one with such debating acumen, wait a minute I did once...your parents wouldn't happen to be siblings, would they?
Care for some more kool aid?

Dash @ Mar 22nd 2007 10:50PM
HAHA!
You Sony fanboys need to go outside (Playing you're little "Home" when it comes out doesn't count by the way) You guys are fucking hilarious, you threaten to not buy games that are released on other consoles just because you jack off to Sony's logo every night. To you fanboys seeing a game that you been waiting for on you're $600 blu-ray player go to another company is worse then being forced to watch a Uwe Boll movie (in HD on a blu-ray disk mind you.)
I love having all three consoles and watching you kids tear each other apart because your precious exclusive title has gone multi platform. Games take millions of dollars to make now and a company like Capcom can't afford to release a game that could potentially make millions on a console that hasn't even hit two million in sales. That's capitalism for you, get used to it (or move to China, whatever floats you boat)
Later fanboys.

Cant we just enjoy the games we are getting no matter which damn console you own.
Ironhide Delta @ Mar 23rd 2007 5:21AM
Guess what folks. Selling less than a million copies these days don't do jack squat in terms of earnings and since the ps3 user base is so small, it's only right for a company to pursue other avenues of profit. I'll guarantee you that if DMC was exclusive to Sony, Capcom wouldn't make any more sequels because of the lack of profit from the PS3 version.
Besides, what the hell do you care? Despite what you think, the quality won't be hurt, nor will the gameplay, so quit getting the panties in a bunch!
Knight Marquise @ Mar 23rd 2007 10:26AM

LOL...you're so paw3d.

Webmaster:
Developers that think that PS3 is doing poorly and then porting their exclusives are only making it worse. Dead Rising was going to come out on launch day on 360, they were going to take a risk. They also took a risk with Lost Planet; they could have made something for PS2, with its install base. What they did was increase 360s potential install base, which would have been the same for PS3 if they had released Devil May Cry exclusively. I also don't think it's doing poorly. It has almost reached 3 million consoles worldwide even with delays, not so many games, and a high price tag. The heavy hitters are coming, so perhaps PS3 could surpass Microsoft's numbers in the summer (they SHIPPED 5 million summer last year). So, if Capcom had made all titles cross-platform since the beginning, then maybe your ROI theory would make more sense; after all, Lost Planet cost 40 million dollars to make, which translates into needing almost 900,000 sales. If ROI mattered to them, a port for PS3 would be almost pure profit. My theory? Microsoft is helping that ROI of theirs for free. Now THAT's how you get your ROI, nevermind the industry in the long run (what you want as a developer is a competitive industry, not an industry dominated by a single platform where one runs the show). The game Devil May Cry 4 on PS3 would have sold to everyone that wanted the game. What if not to everyone? They just released the game a little later, and sales would have been the same, for everyone that wanted it. Otherwise why didn't SEGA release Virtua Fighter for 360 at the same time? Why are they porting Oblivion and Enchanted Arms to PS3 after a Year on 360? Because they care about ROI. Now that sounds more like ROI than your theory. If it was too expensive to port, these guys wouldn't have ported those two, and neither Ridge Racer nor Full Auto would have been ported (they are almost the same game, the only thing changing is the number). Same thing with fight night; if releasing the game a year later is hurtful for a company, then why even release it? No, what's wrong here is assuming it hurts to make a port for it to come out later. That's why RE4 came on PS2 some time after it came on Gamecube. It's that simple. It's economics, as you say.
I'm also sure calling capcom "crapcom" reveals so much about my personality....
Slaziman @ Mar 23rd 2007 8:39PM
It's quite fucking obvious Sony Owns all is trolling. Keep feeding him, idiots
Brook @ Mar 27th 2007 6:23PM
the only reason im sad to see it go multiplatform is that its not going to take full advantage of what the PS3 or Xbox has to offer.
i honestly think its going to be undercut now that its going multiplatform.
unless they started the PS3 version earlier than the 360 version im not sure.
but i just think that when they make a game multiplatform they kind of almost have to code for the lowest common denomenator and nothing against the 360 i have one but i just believe the PS3 has so much more potential in the long run and if it keeps losing these exclusive titles itll either be a very long time until that potential is realized or we may never see it at all.
