GAME says: PS3 launch stronger than the others!
Different reports are rolling in from every side of things -- the launch is a failure, the launch is a success, the lunch is scheduled for 12:30PM, the dinner is undetermined, the dryer is too loud, the launch is a nail on Sony's coffin, it's too hot in here... you get the idea. Don't you? Well, here's the launch from UK retailer GAME's point of view.A good supply of consoles leads to less dissatisfied consumers. Says Anna Macario of GAME: "It's very unusual that we're going to be in a situation where we've got enough stock to fulfil demand in the short term – that's never happened before." She says that there won't (read: shouldn't) be any negativity against Sony for not supplying enough units.
She goes on to talk about this and that, but we've got to step back. Our subject line claims the PS3 launch is stronger than the others -- but there's nothing about sales numbers of people in line mentioned! The launch is stronger because Sony came well-prepared with a plethora of units to fulfill everyone's wish who wants a PlayStation 3. If everyone can get the console right away, that can be called a great launch, right? Selling out is good, but when you've ample supply, selling out is harder and almost an impossible goal, especially for a pricey machine like the PS3. It's worth it, though.

This is a rather pathetic attempt at spin. This was news YESTERDAY. All this tells us is Sony has the supply. We know nothing of the demand. Stop bullshitting us.

Thank you. What the fuck is wrong with people? From what it sounds like this was a great launch. My local Circuit City had seven PS3's at launch.
Good article.

Sony should be praised for providing enough units. It's really annoying to not be able to get a console, such as the case with the Wii still. I can't imagine waiting in line for nothing *holds back smart ass remark*.
What's important to watch is to see how many more visitors this will net for PS3fanboy. Will we get more complainers or more people that are excited about the console? I know I'm the former, but I have plenty of reasons.
Hopefully you guys get more supporters now, and can start covering more of what's important now that all the major gaming territories have their hands in the PS3.

Hm, our launch went alright. got 19 ps3's in stock, 15 of which were reserved. As I write this there are still 4 in normal stock and 5 reserved. No queue's, no lining up, just a good day of selling the darn thing. One thing that does grind my gears, why only a composite cable...

Looks like the launch didn't fair so well.

"At French events, one store sold 50 consoles out of 1000, and another store sold 300 out of 1000. At the massive under-attended event at the Eiffel Tower, where they were told to expect 3000 people, roughly 40 people turned out ..."

The only difference is that the other two competitors had world wide launches and Sony waited 6 months to have enough consoles! Not really in the same ballpark to compare all the launches now is it? We should add up all the consoles MS and Nintendo sold from their launch date to 6 months after and then compare them to how many PS3 consoles where sold last night since Sony had 6 months to get their consoles together!

LOL its funny the ps3 can't sit, stand, walk or even talk without some xbot getting upset about it. for the love of god if you people are so confident that the ps3 will fail then by all means let it fail! why the hell to you people find a great need to try and shit on everything the ps3 does if you are sure its going to flop? why try so hard to shit of something you don't even plan to buy? is it because ps3 is strikingly similar to the ps2 in its early days and history might repeat itself? and you somehow feel threaten

I guess even Microsoft did not realise that no-one would even want to show up. It looks like Microsoft has done too much effort in letting a sinking ship, sink even faster.
But probably they just had Microsoft in the news because its the only thing interesting that has happened that evening.
But i only visit this site only because i like the way this site can twist reality.

LOL..again @Vincent another xbot "But i only visit this site only because i like the way this site can twist reality" the common xbot who seems wonders onto a ps3 site just to talk shit!...it amazes me...if you xbots are so sure that the "ship" that is the ps3 sinking then let it sink...you come to a ps3 fanboy website and when you don't here something you like or negative about the ps3 then it becomes "the way this site can twist reality"..Why? bacause you didn't hear the ps3 normal doom and gloom so its "twisting" realiy?...you can always find xbots willing to spin anything about the ps3 into something bad....here's a tip stay on xbox fourms.. I am sure you and other xbots can jack off to halo
