PSP gets new low price: $199 for Value Pack [Update 1]
The latest Gamestop ad proudly proclaims that the PSP Value Pack has a new low price. The bundle, which includes a Memory Stick, headphones, and a case, now comes $50 cheaper at $199.99--that's the same price as the Core unit.
It's unclear at this time if this is a Sony-mandated price drop, or if it's a Gamestop-only promotion. However, considering how today is PSP's two year birthday, it makes sense to celebrate with a universal price drop. If the Core unit drops in price as well, PSP will almost be able to compete against Nintendo's handheld ... at least in terms of price.

I thought the PSP was $199 for months now. Didn't the $250 version include a 1GB stick? That's not what's in this package.

In Store only and does ANYONE else even sell the 'value pack' anymore...I thought it was Core or Entertainment
(BTW Core in Canada sells for $170 USD regular price and the Entertainment pack is $207 USD)

Didn't Sony stop making that SKU and replace it with the Entertainment Pack? I haven't seen a Value Pack for ages.
Gamestop must be trying to liquidate their stock of these.

That was the holiday bundle. I guess they went back to this value pack bundle after the holidays ended (unless I'm mistaken and it's been available all along.)
