Mexico is all up in arms over GRAW2
We're going write about this because it's really quite humorous. In a post we slapped up a few days ago, we mentioned how activists are trying to enlist the help of U2 frontman Bono to pull Mercenaries 2 from shelves. Someone in the comments sections said something like this:"RatBoy: Ohhh, ohhh, I got an Idea... Why don't we boycott GRAW 2 because it's set in Mexico. I know that after playing it I develop an intense urge to write my congressperson and ask them to break sanction millitary action in Mexico City."
Well, you've got a gift, my friend. The governer of Mexican state Chihuahua (we wonder if it's very small and frail, shakes a lot?) has ordered the seizure of all copies of GRAW2. The mayor calls the game "a crime against the intellectual capacity of Juarez residents" and offered a similar condemnation of video games as a whole: "Violent video games instill values which are upside down, and these actions are despicable because they attempt to divide the good will of the residents of American and Mexican cities."
Hmm, well RatBoy, do you think England is going to boycott the alternate timeline in Resistance next? You seem to be on top of these things!

fist post is a total waste of time...dude you should dig a hole and burry yourself on it you're gonna make the whole world a favor ^^
Charl3z523 @ Mar 24th 2007 3:18PM
I played the demo of it, it was pretty bad... so I could care less if this gets pulled or not.
You sure can tell that poster number 1 hasn't puberty yet.

"...do you think England is going to boycott the alternate timeline in Resistance next?"
Its not the same thing tho. England is portrayed as a battered hero in Resistance. While Mexico is cast into the role of a villian in GRAW.
Imagine if a Japanese company made a war video game where the US gets their ass handed by North Korea in a 2008 Pacific showdown.
Put yourself in their zapatos.

I'm mexican and I don't find it particularly offensive. But I guess politicians know what they're doing... oh wait.
scott @ Mar 24th 2007 4:35PM
what does 'hasn't puberty yet' mean

I wonder if "in your face fanboy" realizes that GRAW 2 is not a 360 exclusive but a PS3 game as well.
Also, it is kind of funny that his name would call someone else a fanboy when it is blatantly obvious that he is one himself.
scott @ Mar 24th 2007 5:21PM
I wonder if "Jason B." can read posts, since the first poster said "you have to wait for your port ". To a certain degree I agree with him, why is this on a ps3 news site when they game wont be out for a few months?

I would like to say that when the alternate history game comes out portraying a world in which Nazism has taken over I hope the Germans don't get angry. Games are just that. It makes me angry that a politician wants to get his name into lights by calling out a game. Obviously this isn't the first time.
RatBoy @ Mar 25th 2007 4:49PM
Terrifying... Just terrifying...
The sad part is that my quote has my grammatical typo in all its glory. Ahh well...
As for my alternate timelines in England prophesy, I predict that England will respond OK... but it's the historians I'm worried about, they're a militant lot.

one of the best combat titles on the 360 for sure and remember the 360 is all about shooters so this game really has a special place in our parts. i would really recommend you guys with a PS3 try it out when it comes out and is the upcoming PS3 home is anything like our Xbox Live you guys will be playing a true next gen multiplayer FPS.
i also look forward to seeing any differences with the PS3 release, ubisoft will have some time to make it beter than our 360 version for sure.

well, ive got tosay this is a load of crap, i am a mexican, all my life ive played video games, and really enjoyed GRAW 1 on the 360, i currently own the PS3 and 360, the stupid mayor of juarez is so lost in his own world that cares more about a simple videogame than the death of over 500 women in his territory, murders that havent been resolved, and by the look of things... never will. Its a shame and right now i feel nothng more than a deep anger.
