Midway wants a piece of the PS3 pie, about 4%
If the PS3 were a pie, what kind of pie would it be? Blackberry? Chocolate? Ooh, chocolate sounds good. Apparently, Midway agrees because they have sunk a ton of funds into next-gen development. How much? They've put one-hundred million dollars into next-gen development tools and technology. That's a lot. Oh, and they've also put in two-hundred million dollars into game development. So... okay, wow. Lots of cash just to get started! It's understandable how many companies this early in the game are deciding on multiplatform -- you've got to recoup that initial investment quickly, then you can concentrate on the best of the systems (whichever it turns out to be, we say in our least-fanboyish way).Midway's boss, David Zucker, said this about their goals: "We have been pushing this for two and a half years now, investing a lot and being very heavily focused on next-generation consoles like 360 and PS3. Really this year it's about gaining market share. We're around two per cent of the market – if we can go to four per cent that would be a huge win for us and it's something we really believe we can do. We are looking to do that on next-gen platforms now. We've invested a lot of money and we have a lot of good products." We hope so! We can't remember the last "great Midway product"... especially if we look outside of the Mortal Kombat franchise. Can you?

Hmm is Unreal Tournament a Midway product? That's the only good one that comes to mind right now.

Psi Ops! Honest to God, an extremely good game. Very underrated.

No its not, the March 8th update was supposed to come with a Lair Demo and new trailer, Rainbow Six Vegas Demo, Virtua Fighter 5 and Virtua tennis 3 demo (Or trailer I forget) and many other kick ass things read:
http://playstation.joystiq.com/2007/03/05/rumor-phil-harrisons-gdc-keynote-speech-in-full-detail/
They said it was a rumor but then they said the update on would come on the 23rd. I dont seem to have a lair demo on my ps3 or in the ps store and I'm angry.

David Zucker is such a douche. he is the person responsable for Midway going down. Back in 2001 you a cople of the best arcade games of all time: NHL Hitz, and NFL Blitz. Thoes games are still around but not as good as the originals. Dave do a remake of NHL Hitz 2002 and NFL Blitz 2002; none of this pro shit.

Does anyone else besides me want to see a new NBA jam game? Remember the old arcade NBA Jam TE? That game was fun as hell. Imagine that with awesome graphics (flames) and online play. Id be hooked. Nothing like half court dunking with flames shooting from the ball.

Midway's greatest published titles: the Shadow Hearts series (although it's possible that the third, From the New World was published outside of Midway, Shadow Hearts: Covenant is possibly the best traditional RPG on the PS2).
