Japan gets five more PS1 games

American gamers haven't enjoyed an update since Wipeout, and European gamers don't have any PS1 games available on the PLAYSTATION Store yet. That hasn't stopped Sony from updating their archive of PS1 titles in Japan. The newest update brings 5 more games, bringing the total number of downloadable titles to 36:

Gunners Heaven (SCEJ)
Galaxy Fight (Sun Denshi)
Hard Edge (Sun Denshi)
Arcade Hits Raiden (Hamster)
Tall Unlimited (Hamster)

As usual, PSP owners must have a PS3 in order to access the PLAYSTATION Store. When Sony will choose to fix this flaw?

Well lucky them I guess . I still wait for the time when there will be at least 200 downloadable titles , and I wont need a PS3 lol

Remember all this speculation of there being 7000 PS1 games for our PSP's at $5 each ...

Heh, and I've been playing about a dozen of my PSX games on my PSP since the beginning of the year... way to go, Sony.

YEAH all this for for a cheap preice plus 600! for the PS3,,, hmmm think I will pass sony. They need to wake up and realize that they will sell more PS1 titles if you could jsut download them to your psp with no PS3 middleman!

Are these games not in Japanese's so why would i play them?

Agreed. You know this is the single reason I haven't bought a PSP yet. I want one, alot, and one of the selling features (I kid you not) is the ability to download old PS1 games. Until they let me do it directly from a PSP my 200 bucks is sitting nice and comfy in my wallet.

When will Sony realize that forcing consumers to buy crap merchandise they don't want (i.e. PS3) in order to access something they do isn't a good business strategy? That companies management needs a serious shakeup. Are you listening shareholders?

I know this will not happen but would be cool if it did. I would like to see Sony bring out the games from Japan that were on the PS1 and never had English an English patch so people could get to play them and see why so many people liked them.

Plus Sony needs to bring out more PS1 games also.
