Super Rub-a-Dub, you're the one!
Here's a trailer of the upcoming PS-Store title Super Rub-a-Dub. It's cute, what do you expect? We'd like more games to come out on the network, but they keep getting pushed back! We'd like to propose a question to Sony: "WTF?" Not because we're angry or annoyed or anything, but we've got to have something to get us through the gaming lull that is Springtime.

Looking good!
Is it just me do the US seem to be getting a LOT more stuff on their PStore than us UKians? I haven't seen any PS1 titles yet...

Yeah this game looks interesting. Unfortunately IGN gave this one a low score... 3.0!

Hopefully the developers will be able to address the problems somehow. They may eventually fix it via firmware?

PS-Store should become more like Xbox Live Arcade, which releases a new game every week.

Before they beef up releases, they need to work more on the store. I queued up the baseball demo, and the videos for Super RubaDub, Warhawk and Home.
My first mistake was assuming they'd download in the background while Folding@Home was running. Nope. So I lost a few hours there.
My second mistake was assuming they'd download in the background while I was watching a blu-ray movie. Nope. So I lost an hour and a half there.
My third mistake was forgetting that I had Folding@Home set to come up after ten minutes, which again paused the download...luckily only lost like half an hour there.
Finally the things downloaded in the background...of the dashboard. And still took forever. In the end, I set up the queue in the afternoon and finished the downloads at like 2 am.
So what CAN you do that doesn't stop the download? And what's with them all apparently downloading at once. At one point 1 file was 99% done, 1 was 0% done, 1 was 23% done, and one..the only one active at that moment, was around 40% done.
I really think Sony needs to take another pass at background downloading...

My downloads worked while watching a movie—MLB wasn't worth it though. So many dead, dead eyes...
Now, where's our Calling All Cars!
GRT @ Mar 31st 2007 3:19PM
Yeah, the eyes were creepy.
So am I missing a setting or something? Why'd my downloads stop while watching Eragon (even MORE dead eyes!!!). Was it because the movie was so bad that the downloader just couldn't face it?
mccomber @ Mar 31st 2007 10:18PM
I realized tonight that the movie I was watching was actually one I'd loaded on the PS3 from my computer, so it wasn't actually playing off a disc. A quick test with a DVD showed that mine does in fact stop downloads while watching a movie. My mistake, for some reason I was just thinking "watching a movie," not where it was coming from. Annoying and stupid, hopefully they fix that since there really isn't a good reason for it, is there?
mccomber @ Mar 31st 2007 10:58PM
OK, just figured it out, and it's related to how they fixed another issue; the occasional pause of playback on blu-ray titles. That was a direct result of the PS3 accessing the network while a movie was playing apparently. To fix this problem, they disabled network access while playing a movie from disc.
So... it pauses your downloads when you start a movie so that your movie isn't interrupted by the PS3 trying to go online for whatever it was doing before.
I'm honestly not sure which is more annoying myself, but it's nice to know there is a reason for it.

IGN had code that was 2 months out of date!!! but they didn't admit it.
Here is a proper review, pass it onto your mates!

Awesome, just awesome - this game is amazing! At first i thought it wasn't all that after seeing how it transitioned from the E3'05 demo but now that i've actually played it and not based my opinion on a
negative review (insert well known games review site), this game is really a lil gem! WOW! This game is
so addictive it's scary! Think Marble madness crazyness combined with Super Monkeyball tilting
shenanigans in water with gators, this is what this game's all about! The controls are spot on, your in total control and whenever you mess up it is YOUR fault and nobody elses, you'd just brush it off and have another go, and another and another, it's that addictive! hehe. When you come in the top 5 online scores, your replay is automatically uploaded for all the world to see! heehehe
This is a bargain game, costing just under 4 squids ($8), it's definitely a more justifiable/interactive
purchase than flOw that's for sure!
Go download the demo, try it, enjoy it, get the fully monty and see for yourself how FUN it really is!
8/10
