Blu-ray movie releases for the week of April 2nd

A couple of decent Blu-ray movie releases this week, and then there's King Arthur. I hope the "Director's Cut" version cut out about 90% of the film, because the original version needed some work!
Blu-ray Movie Releases
- G.I. Jane
- Identity
- King Arthur (Director's Cut)
- Star Wars Collectors Set (Episodes I - VI)
- The Natural (Director's Cut)
- Volver
As always, availability is subject to manufacturer delivery.

Get that April Fools joke out of there! Points for subtlety though, it's just sitting there in the middle of the list, minding it's own business.

Is that a cruel april fools joke???? Listing the Star Wars set coming out Tuesday on Blu-Ray??!?!?!?!?!
gilbert @ Apr 1st 2007 10:53AM

Mark D Anderson @ Apr 1st 2007 10:54AM
Stef!!! You beat me by 2 minutes, only because I was trolling on amazon to make sure it wasn't true!! :)
The Davez0r @ Apr 1st 2007 11:00AM
Oh you can do better than that.
Ray @ Apr 1st 2007 11:33AM

Knowing how long it took Lucas to support DVD, the idea of him jumping into Blu-Ray so soon, well, yeah right. I would love to see a high-def version of Star Wars, but I don't see it coming for quite some time. Nice April Fool's though.

Score. I even looked it up on Amazon -- and I mean I keep a running list in my head of BR movies coming up soon that I want to buy, so: score. (I'm one for two: wife, figured me out immediately; 12-year-old daughter, I got her -- I know, that's cheap, isn't it. Oh well, not a great batting average, but at least *something*).
Afsheen @ Apr 1st 2007 12:35PM
Damn. You got me. As I was running over to Amazon to verify, I was thinking, "How 'come this is the first time I'm hearing about this? Doesn't make sense." As I was typing in the search, it dawned on me. Good one.
That's twice today, dammit!!! I'm gonna stop interacting with the world for a few hours...

I thought about it...but when it comes to Star Wars I had to make sure, heh. So I went to Amazon to verify too. Nice one, evil; but nice. Heheh.

SW was obvious.. Lucas isnt done milking the DVD medium yet.. there are over 20 versions of SW on DVD.

Well played sir - I could hardly contain my excitement when I read that post. Of course, after I had calmed down, stopped my hooting and hollering and googled things, I went back an re-read the post. Ah. It said G.I. *Jane*. There is no Hi-Def version of G.I. Joe, is there?
Well, back to dreaming. ;)
PreGHz @ Apr 1st 2007 3:13PM
I hope King Arthur is a joke too, cuz that box art is terrible.
Terribly delicious, I mean!
baddog70 @ Apr 1st 2007 4:32PM
G.I. Jane is in fact a real movie made by Ridley Scott starring Demi Moore as a female navy seal or marine, I forget which. Terrible movie. That is not the phoney baloney.... SW won't be on any HD format for at least another year or 2.
Otsego_Undead @ Apr 1st 2007 9:52PM
Well done. Very subtle. Freakin Lucas will release I-VI on DVD before he even thinks about releaseing a SINGLE one on Blu-Ray.... hes got to M-I-L-K I-T!
Thomas @ Apr 1st 2007 10:07PM
Hold on!!! The Star Wars is for reals right, cause I just called my cousin and told him that I was going to getting that set... hell... I need that SW collectors set...
Jeremy @ Apr 2nd 2007 1:10AM
You did? Well... just call George Lucas and explain to him that you fell for a prank but you already made plans around it. I'm sure he'll start stamping out Blu-ray Star Wars discs just so you can make good on what you said to your cousin.
Eric @ Apr 2nd 2007 6:04AM
Very funny... Jackasses...

Dude, dude, seriously dude, NOT COOL DUDE. For most people in this world this is not a joke. Tell me my mom died as an april fools joke, not that Star Wars will be on blu-ray. NOT COOL DUDE.
