Ace Combat 6: a Timed exclusive for the 360
Back when it was just a rumor circulating a Microsoft-centric website, Famitsu scans revealing Sony-staple Ace Combat 6 pushed onto the 360 seemed like another hit against Sony. Turns out it is, but it's not a critical hit for massive damage. Just a regular ol' hit, since it has recently been revealed that the title will be a timed exclusive for the 360.The news is taken from the PS3Forums, but they've gotten the information from the Official XBox Magazine, so we're going to let this one slide as the truth. The thing is -- when the PS3 owners get their hands on it after a few months, what sort of special features or tweaks will have been made? Seems we've something to get excited over after all. Oh, and no, the screenshot isn't the actual boxart. But it's a cool one.

as long as is not a crappy port or anything...
rfom @ Apr 10th 2007 6:24PM
Think of the number of "Sony LIES" comments if the reverse happened - i.e., Sony claimed this was an exclusive and it turned out otherwise.
And isnt it sweet of out 360 brethren to playtest out the games for us (Oblivion, Shivering isles, GH2) so that we can have the awesome gaming experience that we deserve - expect some dodgy controls and bugs to be ironed out on the inferior console before they come out with a PS3-worthy game

@2 lets hope you are correct.
scott @ Apr 10th 2007 6:53PM
Don't you mean once we're done with our dinner, you get our scraps rfom?
aragorn @ Apr 10th 2007 7:32PM
Dear PS3 fanboys: You guys can keep this one :p. Seriously, namco forgot how to make games (unless it's tekken).

"Don't you mean once we're done with our dinner, you get our scraps rfom?"
Something like that. BTW, how's Virtual Fighter 5 on the 360 coming along?
scott @ Apr 10th 2007 7:53PM
Pretty good mccomber, how is guitar hero working out for you guys?
sam-evans @ Apr 10th 2007 7:54PM
Im one for PS3 exclusives, but I wouldn't care if this was multi platform...as long as it stays on the PS3
Hopefully Namco can pull something special out of their hat for the PlayStation 3 version
Timed exclusive just means they get more dev time on the PS3 version, so we get a better polished game and more features

Lol "Haha" is trying to sound calm while trying to put through as much hate as possible. Too good.
Well really, Call of Duty 3 was released almost at the same time and neither shot out outstanding reviews. Can't say much about the other two though.
And of course, its really hardly a lackluster Blu-Ray. In fact, it shines brighter than the 360 i'm sure =).
Killer @ Apr 10th 2007 8:27PM
So does that mean Virtual Fighter 5 will have online features? I mean I keep hearing timed exclusives get better features later on after the exclusive.
Killer @ Apr 10th 2007 8:31PM
What the heck!? I didn't post everything that was under the joke. :( That isn't cool. It was an awesome rant about getting rid of Mindless Fanboyism. Damn, this is sad. :( :(
Anyway, Why are we arguing over this game?
Every other game review I have read about all the next-gen games from Namco, SUCKED COMPLETELY.
We're argueing which one will be better then the other, but that's a great chance it will suck on both consoles.
DarkMan @ Apr 10th 2007 9:35PM
@killer
Virtua Fighter 5 for the Xbox 360 will be based on the ver. B (not Ver. A for the PS3) of the arcade game. It will have more moves, moves items, and some bug fixes.
jay @ Apr 10th 2007 10:41PM
why are there just as many xbox fanboys on this site as ps3 ones? i'm amazed at how xbox fanboys seem to patrol the interweb.
mccomber @ Apr 11th 2007 12:11AM
"Pretty good mccomber, how is guitar hero working out for you guys?"
You got me there, we can't use any of the ps2 guitars, while you xbox folk have a... what, 1 in 2 chance of getting one that works? Haven't been keeping up with them whammy bar issues today...
Brent @ Apr 11th 2007 12:27AM
lol Guitar Hero works great instead of having to buy the game all over again and a new guitar I bought a 10 dollar PS2 to USB adapter and im jammin away on my PS3 eat that shit Xbot 36o whores :P
Adam @ Apr 11th 2007 3:24AM
The question is, how long does this exclusive last, will it be 6 months, will it be 3? Who knows.
Andrew Paul Baisden @ Apr 11th 2007 10:54AM
cool this game was my fav flying on ps2 can't wait for this one.
Aaron @ Apr 11th 2007 12:25PM
@Brent
Really? You can play GH on PS3 via the PS2 to USB adapter? I was going to try that (I don't own GH at the moment), but then I read that the PS2 to USB adapter would not work with the guitar controller, due to the fact that the controller does not have a "PS button" that can be pressed for the PS3 to recognize the controller. I'd be interested to hear about your experience.
