As many of you are already familiar, PSM has scored a huge 16-page exclusive on
Devil May Cry 4 in their latest issue (in newsstands today). Their preview of the multi-platform action game has us yearning for more: "It's safe to say that the generational leap in hardware has not caused the series to lose sight of what it is: pure, all-out, unforgiving action ... Many mainstays from the series, including colored orbs, air juggling, and the Euro-gothic aesthetic remain intact- only everything is rendered in eye-blistering high-definition at a locked 60 frames per second."
While current subscribers are enjoying the
dreamy pictures of Nero fighting demon hordes, the vigilant deal-watching group
CAG has unearthed a fantastic deal for new subscriptions. 12 issues of PSM are now available for $5 at
amazon.com, after instant rebate. While new subscribers are unlikely to receive the latest
DMC4 blowout, one Lincoln is still a great deal for something to read when you absolutely have no access to PS3 Fanboy.

Reading the first paragraph of the article is interesting given the turn of events:
"You own a PlayStation 3. You've bought and played every game on the market, but something isn't right. Somehting is... missing. That deflated feeling is caused by the devastating absence of games. not just any ol' game, but the games that define the PlayStation experience... games like Devil May Cry."
There are about two sentences off to the side of one page that speak to it going to 360, and they almost look as though they were added after the rest was printed since they are in black, and everything else is white/yellow. The rest of the article doesn't exactly have a ps3 only spin, but it doesn't mention it's multiplatform status at all. Lots of mentions of the ps2 games though.

Well, it IS a PlayStation magazine... and they probably wrote that article before the multi-platform announcement was made so they quick threw in a little side bit about it.

This game is going to be awesome. My big dilemma is which consoleto get it for? I was excited to get it for PS3 when it was exclusive, but now that it is multi-platform im leaning towards the 360 version due to rumble and gamerpoints. At first I did notrealize multi-platform hurst PS3 soo much. But there is little incentive for PS3 owners to go with the PS3 version when if they go the route of 360 they get Live Support, Gamerpoints, and rumble. Interesting dilemma there...

There's no multi-player and no online as far as anyone knows right now and I doubt there will be.. it'd be pointless. As for rumble, it's coming back to the PS3 sometime soon hopefully and as we've seen with GTHD, can be added back into existing games with an update. It bugs me that people still don't get that. DMC4 might just have that rumble support added in... I imagine it's not that hard to code. Also, at least in my opinion, this game is going to be loads better on the PS3 because it was designed around the PS3 hardware from the ground up. If you can learn anything from Capcom's multi-platform games, the console that the game was originally developed for usually sports the best version. Check out Resident Evil 4 GameCube and PS2 comparisons if you want an example. The GC version is clearly superior.
