Great wireless keyboard/mouse for the PS3!

Behold! The price may be a little steep, but the darn thing's got a 30ft. working distance from the PS3, has a laptop-style mouse built in, and looks pretty sleek to boot. I've currently got a Belkin wireless keyboard with a mouse (the mouse is useless), but the thing doesn't register unless it's in perfect line with the PS3 from about 5 feet.
Oh, and if you're going to say "laptop mice suck for FPS", you're right. That's why you take a normal wireless keyboard, a piece of wood and some thick plastic along with your trust hammer and nails and make your own keyboard/mouse combo. Crouching over a table is the least fun thing in the world. Oh, and this keyboard rocks. I'd get one, but... money.
[thanks, Sean!]

Interesting.. ive been looking into something like this. But, they need to make the browser load faster and more compatible, so i begin using it more.

How can you say the keyboard "rocks" if you don't have one?
Raz @ Apr 14th 2007 4:37PM
Because he has eyes to look at the damn pics and specs? I don't need to use crack to know it's not good for me...

I use personaly a microsoft entertainment 7000, pairing has work in 10 seconds, work like a charm. pricey but very good quality
otsego_undead @ Apr 14th 2007 4:46PM
cool. but off topic:
I cant view PS3fanboy.com on my PS3, or joystiq. However, engadget it my home page and it shows up just fine. Anyone else?

This is awesome, and I was waiting for Logitech to do exactly this, wireless keys with a mouse pad built-in, for those ready to surf/work Linux.

I've been hoping to find something like this:
http://blogs.snapstream.com/2007/02/13/btc-9019urf-wireless-keyboard-review-by-terminal/
But a bit smaller, and with bluetooth. Heard this particular one doesn't really work so well with the ps3, which is too bad as I'd thought about giving it a go.
Haven't really looked at retail places though, just a quick search for HTPC keyboards online. Hopefully we'll see a few more keyboards specifically for the ps3, especially with Home on the way. I'd like one about the size of the keyboard on my powerbook myself, and for some reason I like the idea of the joystick more than a trackpad. Less mass at least. This logitech one looks nice, but doesn't seem all that small or convenient to keep in front of the TV.

^^^ yea, same problem.. the Weblogs Inc sites dont show up on PS3. Oh well.
Shoaib @ Apr 14th 2007 7:06PM
Yeh, engadget works on mine also, but it shows up in a really goofy way, the other weblogs sites don't work either :(

#7: I have the 9019URF and for the most part it works fine with the PS3, and the range I get on it is good too. The only problem I've had is that sometimes it seems to be recognized as a controller for some reason, which means I have to un-plug it in order to play games. No idea why this is happening but it doesnt seem like that could be a problem with the unit itself
Ian @ Apr 14th 2007 7:24PM
Would be better with Bluetooth though... this keyboard uses a USB dongle plugged into the PS3 to work.
GadgetMadness.com @ Apr 14th 2007 7:50PM
Sorry to disagree. I shelled out the $80 bucks for this thing and was totally disappointed.

Hmm, I bought this same keyboard and love it... got it from work, so it was under employee discount... I also use it for my PC so I am not disappointed.

are there one of those stupid petitions I can sign to get the latest Flash version on the psp and ps3. It pisses me off. I understand not having the latest flash on the psp, but ps3? Come on...
alienclay @ Apr 14th 2007 9:22PM
i have another wireless logitech keyboard, with an actual mouse (wireless of course) but as smooth as it is on my couch, something makes me wish the phantom lapboard was a reality.
stirlo @ Apr 14th 2007 11:41PM
yeh i've got a decent Logitech laser mouse - keyboard combo, works fine with the browser but none of my games support KB and mouse :'(
how am i supposed to have an unfair advantage in Resistance and COD3 online? :'(

I'm going to try this little beauty: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/BE/EN,CRID=2166,CONTENTID=12339
It's rechargeable (no need for changing batteries :p) and it's design fits the PS3...

I'm a big fan of this keyboard personally - although it's even more money...

As is see the Logitech DiNovo Edge has already been mentioned. I actually ordered one and tested it with my PS3 - worked fine, registered as a bluetooth keyboard, and keyboard and mouse functionality worked. Great buy, but very pricey. I already returned mine, since i thought it too expensive.
