Heavenly Sword week concludes... for now!
The week of Heavenly Sword draws to a close, but we can read up on it anytime, so the week can last as long as you want it to. But the bit of information we gathered for Friday were 10 things we didn't know about the game. Let's see if we actually knew any of them.- Nariko is dying -- combat keeps her alive.
- Bad guy is named King Botham.
- Nariko has three fighting stances (see Wednesday's information for that one).
- The Cell processor pulls off some neat tricks -- swirling hair, clothes, waterfalls, etc.
- You'll fight many enemies at once... more than Dynasty Warriors, we'd wager.
- SIXIAXIS motion controls projectiles mid-flight.
- No monstrous creatures to battle... well... not yet.
- Multiplayer? The question mark means we don't know.
- Heavenly Sword is not unlike God of War.
- Ninja Theory were previously known as Just Add Monsters.
We knew most of these, except the last one. If you've been keeping up with GamePro's week of Heavenly Sword, you would have known them too!

Is there going to be a demo for this game?
ndoerr @ Apr 14th 2007 3:10PM
@ massive_98 -- no idea, sorry. =( I imagine there will be, but like with Lair, it'll be right around the game's release.

Hate to be a grammar Nazi, but:
9. Heavenly Sword is not unlike God of War.
Um, what's up with the double negative?
John @ Apr 15th 2007 3:06PM
Umm, hello, JON... there's nothing wrong with double negatives, in this stance. He's saying it's LIKE God of War.
But if he had said, "Heavenly Sword is like God of War," that would have sounded stupid, and simplistic.
By using a double negative, he points out that it's LIKE God of War, but it's also SEPARATE from God of War. It's different, but it's similar. You can't do this just by saying "It's like God of War"-- that makes it lame, and if it was lame, we wouldn't be reading about it.
Double negatives in this context push more buttons and create more neurological connections than the simple "A is like a".
So in summary, "NOT UNLIKE" is not the same as "IS LIKE".
"NOT UNLIKE" opens up more possibilities whereas "IS LIKE" is pretty straightforward.
Jon @ Apr 15th 2007 3:26PM
Uh, okay.
Then why not just use the sentence, "Heavenly Sword is similar to God of War."?
He's not writing poetry, this is a news site, sentences are supposed to be straightforward and to the point, or perhaps you prefer double negatives; however, I think the use of double negatives is useless, especially on a news site.

God forbid you to use double negatives again, Nick. You're making the natives restless, apparently.
