PS3 boxart goes rogue
Sure, the game's not due out for another year, but some teeny, tiny boxart has popped up for the SOCOM-like Rogue Warrior on the PS3.In Rogue Warrior, you play as real-life ex-SEAL, Dick Marcinko, and fight in a fake war that has you trapped behind enemy lines in North Korea on a covert mission to assess the threat posed by North Korea's nuclear arsenal as North and South Korea decide to play King of the Hill.
The game plans to differentiate itself via "contiguous levels using Unreal 3 streaming technology. Central to the game's single and multiplayer experience is the idea of a freeform battlefield, where players are given the freedom to choose how to complete a given objective, allowing for creativity and surprises, rather than heavily scripted events and tightly contained spaces traditionally used in this genre."
Look for this in April... 2008!

Thanks for the link Colin. Game looks pretty sweet and Bethesda did an awesome job porting Oblivion, one of the few ports that looks noticeably better for the PS3 than 360 (instead of the other way around).
I love military shooters, especially modern day ones, so I'll be keeping my eye open for this one!

Wow they said this game was coming out this year and now it won't be around until next year this time lets hope the wait is worth it.

Wow, that sounds like a very dumb idea for a game.
Cagalli @ Apr 28th 2007 11:29AM
IIRC, it was supposed to be out sometime in June of this year.

I'm not sure what sounds 'dumb' about this...
North Korea a threat in the real world...check.
Multiple ways to solve problems just like reality...check.
Unreal engine...check.
Single and Multiplayer...check.
Next Gen graphics...check.

Richard Marcinko is my personal hero. If only he could do away with all the beaurocrats that hold him down... this nation would be alot safer.
If you guys want a brilliant read on this amazing man, (and you're a fan of navy seals, foul language and violence of action) then read the original "Rouge Warrior" autobio and subsequently "Rogue Warrior: Red Cell"... then continue on with the rest of the series.. you wont be disappointed. I sure hope bethesda does The Shark Man justice.

"North Korea a threat in the real world...check"
And that's where you're wrong.
I won't debate this though, it's a gaming site, but that right there, is a major turn off for me.

Would someone just stop goofing around and finish a SOCOM for the PS3?
This game better have some good online combat...
