Gauntlet II hits the PSN this Thursday!

Looks like this Thursday is gonna be a big one at the PLAYSTATION Store! SOE just sent out a press release stating that the updated version of the Midway classic, Gauntlet II, will be available May 3rd from the PlayStation Store for the low-low price of $4.99. For those of you too young to remember (or so old your memory has started to get hazy like mine), Sony included a nice little synopsis of the game:

"Play as the Warrior, Valkyrie, Elf, or the Wizard in Gauntlet II™! Enter a dungeon with several hundred levels as players defeat monster generators that churn out wave after wave of enemies. Players can destroy them to clear the level and find their way to the exit! Collect food for health and magic items for power-ups while plowing through the dungeon. Brought back and available for download exclusively on the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, it's time to re-experience this classic Midway arcade title."

Highlights of the game include:

Full online play
Online leaderboards
Over 100 unique levels!

Looks like Calling All Cars! will have a bit of company this week when it finally hits the PLAYSTATION Store. I plan on picking up both, anybody else?

The only Gauntlet game i remember was a 4 player online 3d game not this 2D-ness !!!!

Meh, I watched the trailer and it looked pretty danged retro to me. I was hoping at least for some updated graphics, even if the gameplay didn't change.

Calling all Cars isnt coming to PSN this week, sadly. Jaffe confirmed it on Neogaf about an hour ago. Had to do with some last minute bug fixes. here is the link:

Gonna pass on this. I picked up MKII when it first came out... played a few rounds and havent touched it since. Im going to stick to relatively new games.

online play will make this alot more fun. its lame playing by yourself or with only 1 other player.

thats bullshit. CAC is coming out this week.or he would have said something on his blog. that would suck if it was delayed again.

and on this game. i wont be gettin it. it looks boring. i only liked gauntlet legends.(think thats what it was called). and the newest one was way to short.
