Acitivion reports incredible growth since last quarter
Activision is breaking personal sales records! While a bit premature, they are claiming sales of $313 million for the fourth quarter and $1.51 billion for the fiscal year. This is mostly attributed to the Call of Duty, Marvel, Tony Hawk, and Guitar Hero franchises. The first and last are probably the biggest contributors. The fiscal year numbers are up from the previous year, which ended up around $1.47 billion. The fourth quarter sales have seen a ridiculous increase from the previously recorded $188 million. This company is growing every year, it seems, and will continue this trend well into our current generation of consoles. In fact, Activision attributes their success "on the back of Guitar Hero II and Call of Duty 3, and says it saw "better-than-expected" performance in its distribution business on the European launch of the PlayStation 3."
We're just interested to see where this company goes from here -- there are some pretty high profile titles on the way from these guys. Regardless as to whether or not they're PS3 exclusive, we think Activision is just going to grow into the size of EA, should they score any more incredibly successful franchises.

How about the PSP version not coming until June!
My best memory of Activision is Pitfall on my Atari 2600.
From what I've read the SM3 game is quite disappointing.

And you have every right too. Activision is also behind the giant conspiracy against the PS3. Well done Holms!!

Either you're a middle aged gamer like myself, or you simply enjoyed the classics. I also have fond memories of Activision back from the 2600 outtings such as Pitfall & River Raid.

I think I got to a point on River Raid and Enduro that I never lost it just kept going and going...I remember seeing the day change in Enduro the first time...wicked...Activision was the best back then.
I bought the Activision Anthology but it just isn't the same using the PS2 controller...once and awhile have to hook up the old 2600 and play it as it was meant to be.

I don't want Activision to turn in EA. I want them to make games that take advantadge of the attributes of only the Wii, 360 or PS3.
I love my PS3!
