Relentless sees PS3 showing its power, impressed

Yesterday, our good friend Jem talked about the developers of the Buzz! series of games, Relentless. They moved into a new office, they're looking to hire someone for a PS3 title, yadda yadda. Today we've got some more tidbits from Relentless from their own mouths.As with many developers moving onto a new console, there's a bit of a journey into the unknown waiting for you. Relentless co-founder Andrew Eades described the experience like this: "We didn't think it would be a walk in the park, but we found it harder than we should have. We had some missteps in the art style, and that slowed us down - we were a bit worried at first but now it looks like a true next-gen game. Now we've got in place everything we need - with the right technical people and art people – and PS3 is starting to reveal its power to us." Reveal its power, like a true ninja.
Eades goes on to comment how they really like what they're seeing with the PS3 and their games. Sometimes, he says, people will stop in their tracks in the office just to gawk at someone else's screen. Eades and other co-founder, David Amor, complimented Sony on the PlayStation Edge technology suite, saying it helps ease the pain of complicated new hardware. We're glad to see that Sony's tech suite is helping and hopefully this will cause other developers to brave the jump into the unknown and let the PS3 reveal its power to them, also.

Finally, we have a developer that sees the truth about the PS3. All we need now, is other developers like this that will stop complaining ,try, and strive for greatness by developing for Sony's PS3.

A developer with a vested interested in Sony platforms making a positive comment about a Sony platform doesn't carry a lot of weight IMO it's like Rare or another close nit Microsoft studio trumping the Xbox360.

LOL, not anyone who owns another platform because the games developed for the PS3 will port poorly which is part of the reason why so many games are Xbox360>PS3.

kingnick pretty much hit the nail on the head on every topic. Mainly the part about developers that are either second-party or paying a ton of attention to one console, saying they think its impressive. It happens with every company. If someone from Retro Studios told me the GameCube was the greatest console a developer could ever work on, I'd laugh at them, and probably slap them with a PS2.

Actually, kingnick, some developers have recently said that it would be easier to port from ps3 to xbox360.
I do think this article reeks of nice-talk ala Rare et al; but usually when a developer is excited and commited, they do make great stuff, as Insomniac, Naughty Dog, and Polyphony Digital did on ps2.

Did I miss something? I don't think anyone is trying to be an anti-Sony fanboy. I can't speak for everyone, but I know I wasn't being one. My point was that these developers need to stop talking, and start working. We always hear how great certain consoles are from specific developers, but then when it comes time to start talking software, they don't have anything.

Jeez, I don't know the fact the 360 was on the market for 11 months or more and people were fine and "patient" with waiting for Gears of War or whatever.....before the ps3 was even released people were running around bitching that "it won't have any games" or whatever the hell you fanbots yell about......while most ps3 owners didn't mind waiting for we knew that giving time the ps3 will show its power.....this news is exactly what we were expecting and they are not the first to say it...but every time we do hear it we get fanbots from all walks of life trying to spin it
My point is that most of us (ps3 owners) know that the ps3 is going to take awhile to roll out it's games..again it took the 360 nearly a year to roll out their games...what?..can't remember that far back?

First off, before the PS3 launched, everyone was predicting they'd have the biggest third-party support, due to the PlayStation brand. As for "fanbots", what the hell are you talking about? I try to make the point that, instead of hearing about how great the PS3 is, I want to SEE how great the PS3 is (through software), and somehow I'm a fanbot? I don't know how much more I can break it down for you. I want to see more PS3 games. Since when was such a thing considered negative?

At this point it, rushing to do something doesn't even exist. We've been hearing how powerful and impressive the PS3 is since E3 2005. We all get what they're trying to say. However, some of these companies talking about how great it is do NOT have any games line-up for the PS3. Don't you think its about time they put something out there?

lets see the 360 has been on the market for nearly 20 months and I have yet to see anything impressive, sorry I don't like Shooters I am more of a rpg fan..but a few seconds on google and I can find a ton of rps that are exclusive to the ps3......White Knight Story, Ratchet and Clank 5, ZOE 3 and so on....you see my sad little friend....I bought the ps3 based on a huge set of games not just FFXII or MGS4 or whatever...you see my point is that if you are too dumb or sad or handicap to actually research for five minutes, no I mean real research not trolling ps3 fanboy, joystiq.com, or 1up.com or whatever the hell you fanbots usually go to for your "gaming" news, then you would know that the ps3 are going to have great games....
is it me or am I the only person who thinks White Knight Story could be ground-breaking?
I mean really, I googled upcoming ps3 first party titles and were blown away, I haven't heard about half the games that were going to be released.

I completely understand the ps3 needs some games, but I am fairly confident that they will have a huge amount of games in the near future and I am not alone believing in this..only a small percentage of people are still running around bitching "ps3 has no games" thing..I don't know if they don't know how to get real gaming news or simply too stupid to do so
in the mean time, I will watch blu-ray movies (holy shit, you mean sony put blu-ray into the ps3 and people actually use it?) or read a book or watch tv or whatever, the ps3 is very young and needs time to mature,fuck, it's been projected to have a 10 year lifetime, so waiting the first year for things to get moving for the ps3 is nothing when you have 9 more years on its life .....its not my fault none of you fanbots patience

And for the record, the first two sites I visit every day for my gaming news are Kotaku and Digg. If you're not checking the gaming section of Digg for news, you're either a moron, or need to do better research. Also, I never disputed the PS3 having great games. I'm just saying that there's a lot of companies talking about how great it is, but are NOT making any games.
