Saint's Row has been cancelled - also, Saint's Row 2 announced!

The cancellation will surely upset some people, but I'd rather have a fully developed and polished sequel than a port of a 9 month old game myself. It will give THQ more time to familiarize themselves with the complex architecture of the PS3 and tweak the gameplay of the series. The game was pretty good, but had some technical and gameplay issues (jaw-droppingly dumb storyline aside) that I hope they fix in the sequel.

Not upset at all, why would I want a GTA knockoff PORTED from another console when I can get GTAIV in a few months?
1.4 million is a bit disturbing, considering it's not even that good of a knockoff. I think GTA by going multi, will kill SR franchise.

Saints Row was decent but you wont be missing it after GTA comes out. It had a couple of feature that I'm hoping GTA will incorperate (GPS and multiplayer, also insurance fraud was pretty fun) but it really was just a good way to pass the sandbox next gen drought.

I thought Saint's Row was a great game and an excellent alternative to GTA. Sure it was a little rough around the edges but it was a lot of fun with some nice variations on the standard GTA formula.
Still, it's obvious why they canceled it. It's release schedule was falling dangerously close to October and launching next to GTA IV would have killed the game. By releasing around holiday 2008 SR2 will be one of next year's standout titles :D

When are we going to hear the news of Halo 3 coming to the Ps3?
Colin @ May 11th 2007 9:00AM
What is a 'halo 3'?

I think the biggest benefit to PS3 (and 360) owners will be that the city will probably be much much larger.

If they could have brought this out sometime this summer for the ps3 they would have done well with it, even if it was a less than great port of an OK game. At this point they'll definitely have to make a great game out of the sequel, and release it well after the holidays so they don't lose a lot of sales to the GTA juggernaut.

I'm a little confused here (not an uncommon event but I usually don't discuss it)
Seems there are a few people that think PS3 fans give a ripe nut about Halo. I would imagine that most PS3 fans are PS2 fans and Halo 1 and 2 didn't attract them to Microsoft so why would Halo 3?
Andir3.0 @ May 11th 2007 4:57PM
@Colin: Personally, I could give a crap about FPS games anymore. I spent my time with them on the PC over 10 years ago and I'm still tired of them.

Ye its alright wutever. Pretty good game but nothing astonishing. It's a decent buy but nothing to fret over.
