Unbelievable Heavenly Sword concept art

Heavenly Sword is a fast-paced action game due out exclusively on the PLAYSTATION 3 this August. Lead heroine Nariko stumbles upon a sword of immense power that slowly sucks the life out of her while she slices through legions of enemies. We were told a while back that Heavenly Sword may feature more monstrous enemies than packs of infantry, and that piece of art in the gallery with the turtle-shell bad guy is what we can probably expect -- humanoid, but with monstrous strength and funky fashion sense.
Check out our gallery, leave your thoughts and get ready for a fantastic game this Fall!

Just so people know, the very stylized sequence is supposed to start with the close up on Nariko and end with the soldier dude stareing at the heavenly sword.
It's kinda backwards in this gallery

I will be pissed if this game does not turn out to be good.

From what I understand, a combination of Dynasty Warriors (massive number of enemies on screen) and God of War (on screen prompts for cool moves).
One thing that could be a problem: God of War used a fixed camera, which meant at any time, the designers knew EXACTLY what would be on-screen (background, structures, buildings, etc). This means you can make everything gorgeous without real-time generation, and that is why God of War is one of the best looking last gen games, period.
I don't think Heavenly Sword will be doing this, and with all those enemies on screen, it's possible the art direction will take a hit. The framerate will hopefully be consistent. I have high hopes for this game. I hope the delay is worth it.

Yeah thats what i am concerend about. Its one character, it has a time limit, and the directors kept saying they want to make it like a movie which might mean it will be short. At least N3 had multiple players in it for replayability. This game better have replayability and a decent length or it might just flop.

So...far...away. Why can't summer be over already!
Great art, I think it shows just what sort of work is going into this game. On a related note, I noticed amazon has finally gotten the ball rolling on bringing the Okami book over from Japan, so I've got that on preorder already; one for Heavenly Sword would certainly be welcome as well.
