Heavenly Sword 90% complete - Multiplayer add-on a possibility
In an interview with Eurogamer, Tameem Antoniades (co-founder of Ninja Theory) discusses the upcoming Heavenly Sword. While the complete interview is not yet available - Eurogamer will be posting it up tomorrow morning - a snippet regarding the possible multiplayer aspect of the game was 'released early'. If you will. The gist is, similarly to Insomniac's Ratchet and Clank Future development philosophy, Ninja Theory have been focusing on the single player aspect of the game so that it can be as deep and immersive as possible. But there's a twist. With the combat system being developed on multiplayer test levels there is a strong possibility that we will see some form of multiplayer become part of the game. Not at launch, however, but as a downloadable expansion at some point. Antoniades assures that when it's done, it will be done right. Not 'slapped-on to please marketing tick-boxes', as he puts it. Excellent.
Be sure to check out Eurogamer tomorrow for the full interview. No doubt I'll have one of my famous (they are famous, right ..?) summaries up before too long, too.

cool news. I think this calls for a demo.

I dont know if hyped games like this needs a demo... if its already hyped a demo could bring it down not up.

A game like this could make for some awesome multiplayer. I've yet to see a solid non-FPS action game in multiplayer format.
I'm hoping Tecmo/Team Ninja makes some MP for Ninja Gaiden 2 (The Dark Sword of Chaos? LOL). I'm hoping this game is more like NG than GoW as well.
kingofwale @ May 16th 2007 1:51PM
not sure how this came can have multiplayer. unless it's a co-op mission with other players.
still, if this can do it, GoW 3 should be able to do it as well.

that is stupid. If they came out with a demo and it sucked, then that would be an indication that the game sucks. If it is a good game, than the demo would be good, and would make us want more. Why wouldn't you want a demo.
thats like saying- lets not have a halo 3 beta, our game is so good that it might make people hate it.
kingofwale @ May 16th 2007 3:11PM
There should be a Demo for everything. if the game sucks, well, developers should just BLOODY fix the game instead of tricking customers into buying a garbage.
>thats like saying- lets not have a halo 3 beta
yeah, how is Halo 3 beta going? ;)

Actually, something like IS happening to Halo 3 right now. People are saying that the graphics are almost the same as Halo 2. That's making people become disappointed with it, despite being told that the graphics might not be final and would be polished in the final version.
People will judge the game based on a demo, which is bad because it doesn't represent the whole game. People would be disappointed with the one part in the demo, but will then miss all the action in the rest of the game.

The Halo 3 beta is actually going well for those who got in without Crackdown. The Crackdown keys aren't working for some reason.

"The Halo 3 beta is actually going well for those who got in without Crackdown. The Crackdown keys aren't working for some reason."
And how many people does that affect? Hope they fix that problem too, some of those Halo fans are a little nuts, and if they don't get to shoot something...
Vincent060 @ May 16th 2007 4:18PM
@mccomber
I agree. I was hoping to be able to enjoy three weeks of posting without having 360Fanboys coming here all the time. Hope they fix it soon. Not just for the the Halo Fanboys, but for the sake of civilization as we know it.
