Warhawk beta to begin next week; sign-up now!

Members of the Gamer Advisory Panel were informed last night that the Warhawk online beta would begin next week on May 24th. By heading to warhawk.com, visitors can register for a chance to enter the beta, but it's unclear if preference will be given to the exclusive GAP community. Regardless, this is much better than what we first feared. We're hoping that Sony will avoid a repeat of their Home beta fiasco, where an incredibly limited number of people were invited.

Regardless of the selection criteria, it certainly can't hurt to try and register, can it? Visit warhawk.com and fill out their (rather annoyingly detailed) survey for your chance to enter the online beta.

Annoyingly detailed? There are less than a dozen things to fill out, and a lot of them are drop-down boxes! I think it took a whopping 90 seconds to do.

Actually, I found the signup surprisingly easy, because I had expected that they'd want to make it time consuming in order to weed out the lazy people and ensure they get serious testers that'll actually contribute to the beta.

just so you know, I'm not a GAPper, but I think GAP should get this one, after being screwed in the you-know-where for HOME beta.

I signed up. I hope I get in. I hope is sort of open. not everyone is a gap member. I been in underground for a couple of years and I have never gotten an invite.

Warhawk beta next week, sounds AWESOME!!! Hopefully it can be half as good as the Halo 3 beta that was released last night.
If Sony messes up like Microsoft did yesterday then all hell will break loose. For those of you that dont have 360's and dont know what I am talking about the Halo 3 beta was announced to release yesterday. But there was a problem and the Beta was not up until around 11 pm and then it took about 2 hours to download. Sure the beta is awesome and worth the wait but if sony pulled this # then everyone would be ready to jump all over them.

Showstopper, you DO realize that your username is tagged at the end of every message, right? There are a few people around here that end their messages with "insert name here", as if they're worried we won't notice their name directly beneath the message.

Actually that was only for the people getting in via Crackdown. Microsoft emailed me my code for the Beta at like 6 AM (on the 16th) and I downloaded it in less than 20 minutes. My guess is the Warhawk beta will be MUCH smaller and more exclusive, because the Halo 3 beta is to test server load and stats, which requires a lot of players. Anyway, I'm looking forward to Warhawk too, so I hope I get in!

You lucky bastard. I had to wait till about 1 a.m. And was late to work because I was up soo late playing it and still tried to get in 2 games before I left the house this morning.
But yea I guess the Warhawk demo will be smoother conidering there are few people with PS3's and its still exclusive to a few people on top of that.
My question is if you have the demo for warhawk how BIG will the insentive be to buy the actual game. From what I see the game only has 1 map... which im assuming the demo will have also. Prolly a few more game modes.

Haha, don't worry, you're getting there. It's hard to keep a habit. And yeah I also noticed that in every video it was the same map. I hope they include more in the final version, as well as some variety in the level designs. ALOT more.

I cant wait to sign up for this, theres only one problem...even if i get in,, My ps3 is stuck in HDMI mode and I cant get it out! I went to my uncles and we had it hooked up to his LCD, but here at home I dont have an HDMI enabled tv! Anyone have advice? I can navigate the interface pretty well, so if someone could post step by step directions (with number of clicks on the d-pad etc.) I could probably do it... Anyone got the time!?!
