WarHawk final formats finally figured out
In a lengthy interview with Game Informer, Senior VP of Marketing Peter Dille came out with many fantastic bits of information regarding PlayStation Home, multiple games and other nagging questions we've been wondering about. From the "Hall of Fame" (PlayStation's take on achievements) to E3 to WarHawk, a lot of issues were addressed but we've got to admit the WarHawk info really made us nod. Here's what Dille said about the final formatting decision on WarHawk: "Warhawk will be available as a download from the PlayStation Network, but we'll also have a retail SKU. There will be differences between the two. The game will be the same, but in the retail SKU we're able to take advantage of that Blu-ray disc and pack that disc with behind-the-scenes information, developer interviews, demos of other games and again, if you've got Blu-ray why not take advantage of that. On top of that, we'll have a Bluetooth wireless headset so that you can jump into the fray on day one and start trash-talking."
So for the cost of $60 in North America, you get WarHawk, oodles of extras and a Bluetooth headset? Sounds like a deal and/or bargain. For those who don't yet have a headset of any kind, this is a fantastic deal. While he didn't comment on the pricing of the PSN download version, we'd estimate they'd keep it at $20-$30 because it is just online and headsets aren't cheap. Especially bluetooth. If you want to learn anything else, check out the complete interview with Dille.

Here is hoping that the headset is good quality.

I really hope Sony starts to market some cheap headsets specifically for the PS3. There is barely anyone with headsets in Resistance
I'll have to buy retail just because I don't have a credit card, or a bank card for that matter. I'm only 15.
I wouldn't pay $60 compared to like $30 if it didn't come with a headset.
We all know how much of a letdown the Spidey 3 extra's were.
kingofwale @ May 19th 2007 7:32PM
I hope they have 3 SKUs:
1.. Download version for 20 bucks
2.. Blu-Ray version with box for 25 bucks (I would rather have a hard copy myself
3... Delexus version with Blu-Ray, Collector item and headset for 59 dollars.
Do NOT BULL us with a 60 bucks Shadowrun wannabe.

I'm hoping they make REALLY SURE that the packaging for the retail version states that the game is online and not an offline experience...I see a lot of confused/pissed-off buyers...you can't depend on the consumer to have done their homework...

"Do NOT BULL us with a 60 bucks Shadowrun wannabe."
That was a tad harsh. I'd much rather play WarHawk than Shadowrun.

it wasn't harsh, it was just mis-worded. I meant to say that I hope Sony won't screw us and sell this game for 60 bucks like ShadowRun is doing.
60 bucks for an online game is WAY TOO MUCH. Unless the game's free to play? (no subscribing?)

I also hope there's a retail version without headset. I'd prefer having a disc, but I've already got a nice Plantronics piece that works great. Guess I could give it to my buddy without so he could finally do voice chat when we play online.

Hopefully it is a nice headset, I've been putting off getting one, and then the PS Eye has an array mic built in, so I was just gonna get that. I'd like to have a bluetooth headset though if it comes with the game as long as it's nice, otherwise I'll be d/ling it. I'm definitely looking forward to this game though, it looks pretty cool.

It's $40, not $60.
My distributor and EB Games/GameStop has it listed as $40.
When you look at a Bluetooth headset, a game, and bonus features going for just $40, you have to think that someone's either losing a lot of money, or two companies are breaking ties.

$30 is too much for Shadowrun.
seedaripper1973 @ May 20th 2007 5:49AM
i just use my blue-tooth headset from my mobile phone???!!! whats the big deal?? it cost me twenty quid??! ($40-or there abouts) is that expensive???
L @ May 20th 2007 10:35AM
& how many of you guys have the Shadowrun beta???
ok its far from a really good game k $60 is to much yes.... but $30 naaa lol ....it should be round $45
its hard to puta price on some of these games.
as for WarHawk..... can we evencall it that anymore?
massive_98 @ May 20th 2007 10:48AM
Sony should put some cheap Sony made headsets in the accesory webpage. They could use the extra revenue.
I hope people who don't have headsets buy retail so something like 80% have a headset.

These Uncharted Clips are fucking awesome. Drakes Fortune will be a system seller. Guaranteed!
thatpspkid @ May 20th 2007 1:58PM
Walmart has some nice $20 bluetooth headsets.
Burnt Meatloaf @ May 20th 2007 10:43PM
Sounds fishy to me. What kind of compromises did they have to make to make it a downloadable title, and will that carry over to the retail version? I think online games should be small and cheap, not full games. I'd want to have an actual disc to own for something like that.

Is is a stereo headset of just a 1 ear BT one?
