PS3 Poll Police: What game excited you most from Gamer's Day?
Do you hear the sirens? We've come for you again. It's the Poll Police and this week we want to know (and subsequently measure) your reaction to Sony's Gamer's Day. We had a lot of galleries for you to check out and a lot of games went from "it looks okay" to "holy crap!" We're curious -- which game has gotten you most excited thanks to Gamer's Day? We've left out titles like Final Fantasy XIII and Metal Gear Solid 4 because they weren't featured, though they're completely viable reasons to get excited. Have fun! If you want to know the results of last week's poll, hit the continued link below and we'll amuse you.
Last week's poll was asking how many Blu-ray titles you own. Turns out most of you claimed to own every single one. Seriously? There are a lot. That's quite a bit of cash you've drained into a new movie format! The second most-voted-on choice were 2-3 movies. That makes sense. I've got three, m'self. Great job, guys! Let's keep the voting going!

I was not that excited about Uncharted before SGD... but now it is probably my most anticipated title. That mix of RE4 mechanics with Tomb Raider gameplay? Yes please!

i say drake looks and acts like nathan fillion (the srebdipity guy). if they ever make a movie he gets the role by default...Oh and the game looks good 2.

I would have said Heavenly Sword, but it didn't really show much new stuff. So I voted for Uncharted, which totally took me by surprise. I didn't think it was going to be all that great from early previews. I thought it was Tomb Raider without the hottie. Now I can see where they're going and I'm intrigued.

How many times can we vote?
I've been spending more time than is healthy keeping up with what's coming out (ie it's been slow at work), so other than Pain nothing really took me by surprise. I'll just go with my top five, although I'm probably going to pick up everything but Eye of Judgment; I was big into card games in middle school, and paid the social price already.
1. Heavenly Sword - I love GoW, and this just looks incredible. It has that level of polish that I think will make it huge. Can't wait for this title.
Uncharted - Wow, wow, wow. The new footage is incredible, this is the stuff that makes people's heads turn. I hope this gets a lot of marketing put behind it, because it deserves it.
Home - It's going to be big, all there is to it. Hope the "simplified" interface is there and works so we don't have to hear the bloatware arguments from the Live kids.
LittleBigPlanet - Fun and a half. The character sketches on joystiq were cool.
Lair - Come on, it's dragon riding. Fireballs and stomping on people from the people who brought one of the better n64 games to us. It should at least be good, fingers crossed for great. I'm hoping for epic scale battles here.

Drakes Fortune does have a hot female sidekick.
It looks really good and the best thing is Xbox 360 fanboys have to think of something really hard to knock it down. It has original gameplay, a great storyline, shooting, and excellent graphics.
massive_98 @ May 21st 2007 12:14PM
I changed my mind,.,all I want is Afrika
Draco @ May 21st 2007 12:16PM
I guess I'm alone in my interest of Eye of Judgment. just another tech demo I can show friends when they come over. :)
completely off topic, does anyone know of a good Yellow Dog PS3 linux forum?
Matt B @ May 21st 2007 1:13PM
Uncharted
Heavenly Sword/Lair (Tie)
Eye of Judgement
Warhawk
My top 5
VerticalEvent @ May 21st 2007 2:00PM
Heavenly Sword and Uncharted, but I have to give the nod to Drake, since Naughty Dog has a reputation for producing fantastic games (to me, at least).
Haseeb @ May 21st 2007 2:12PM
WTF guys No MGS4???, thats the game of the century
Napalm @ May 21st 2007 3:05PM
Where is Warhawk?
GRT @ May 21st 2007 5:01PM
I voted for Uncharted. I'm excited by a good few titles, but before Gamer's Day I was paying exactly zero attention to Uncharted. But now I'm really looking forward to it, ergo it gets my vote in this poll.
Castor @ May 21st 2007 5:17PM
I'm with Napalm on Warhawk. After the last clip and the announcement of an open beta I can't wait. from the list Heavenly Sword. If the gameplay is anywhere near GoW with HD graphics it'll be #1 for awhile. I am still waiting to see more of Drake but so far so good
Cagalli @ May 21st 2007 7:42PM
I voted for DMC4... but damn, I'll be getting all of them. Uncharted is especially the hotness.

@massive_98, I freaking laught out loud at your number 6 comment.
When I heard about Uncharted and saw the early screens and footage, I was not impressed.
But this latest stuff has me hugely impressed.
I have always loved how the Jak and Daxter franchise met an (almost) perfect meld of action, graphics, and humour (more intense programming than Ratchet and Clank, not as fun, not as humorous, though more technically accomplished-- I mean, dynamic lighting-- ALL THE TIME?), and when I saw this, I could see their work again, but it was like...
Freakin EVOLVED.
Teh jungle is gorgeous, his movements, while still showing some video-game-y-ness, were supremely smooth, and it looks like we've got a great story, a great and *classic* Indiana-Jones-theme story on our hands, this is the game to look out for.
It's interesting to note, that this game faired highest in expectation, and the presence of this game and Ratchet and Clank, combined with the sucess of Resistance, shows that Sony has a lot of power, in artistic gold.
These players have repeatedly shown that through the best programming and art direction and storyline they can hit the marks, again and again.
Perhaps Sony's real strength is in it's artists.
Sony has a veritable warehouse of the best artists, and I suspect it is this artistic cornucopia (I can NOT think of the right words, tonight) that will make them succeed.

I don't even own a PS3, but I'll probably get one when Uncharted comes out. It friggin' looks better than Gears of War even! Holy crap!
jorma @ May 22nd 2007 2:19AM
I gave my vote to Uncharted. But i might change my mind and go with Folklore instead.
bttl_x @ May 24th 2007 2:56PM
Socom Confrontation is the game that i'm most interested in. I can't wait to see what maps will be in the game. Crossroads looks pretty good. When the new Socom comes out, i think we will see a fair increase in PS3 sales, due to the fact that almost everyone i talk to that plays socom, is waiting for the new game to come out before buying a PS3.

Killzone baby! Since R:FoM2 is no where near to be released in the near future, it's all about Killzone...
