Limited Edition for Assassin's Creed confirmed for PS3 and 360
Ubisoft insisted on calling the special package for Assassin's Creed a "Limited Edition" because it actually will be limited -- not a lot of people will get their hands on this superbly packed extra-content toting edition of the upcoming stealth/action title. This special package will be available for both the PS3 and 360 versions of the game. We're sure you're wondering what's in it, right?Much like the just-announced GTAIV special edition, this edition comes with a wide variety of goods. What's noted by IGN are: "a specialized tin packaging ... a figurine of lead character Altair, Penny Arcade comics, a miniature strategy guide, and Assassin-themed short films. Behind-the-scenes videos, official trailers, developer diaries, producer interviews and other unnamed goodies." Sounds like a lot of stuff! So, can we expect another $90 price tag? Not at all, actually. Ubisoft is willing to give this all to their loyal customers for the price of $70. Just a ten dollar hike. Completely worth it, right?

Why not just make every upcoming game known to man ship with a Limited/Special Edition? Apparently we're on the road to that, as the past week has been nothing but this crap. Stupid BioShock and Halo 3, with their BS bundles.

@#1:
What a wonderful time to be a gamer when you not only have AAA titles released but you can bitch about the bundles as well.

Did I say the game wasn't AAA? Did I say I wouldn't play/buy this game? I just find it sad that company does a limited edition bundle, and all of a sudden these other companies feel the need to do the same. It isn't the bundles themselves that are annoying. Its just how obviously blind the gaming industry is. Which is why we don't see killer apps. in Spring/Summer, and most genres are flooded with clone competition.

Your post doesn't really make sense. The game is available in a limited edition with extras for those that are interested in that kind of thing, (which I am sure there are many) but it's also available in the plain jane version for people such as yourself that are obviously not interested in aquiring more than the simple game. I don't see why this would be an issue for anyone. When has more choice/selection ever been a bad thing?
