New Folklore trailer continues to say "pah!" to drab colors

Not only does the above trailer give us a fantastic glimpse into the story behind the most mysterious
Personally, I'm not sold on the voice acting yet, but it could be a lot worse. What I am sold on, however, are the graphics, gameplay, and artistic direction the game is taking. Some of the other Netherworld-like creatures speaking to the main characters seem like designs ripped right out of the minds of Jim Henson and Neil Gaiman -- imagine a mix between the classic Labyrinth and the oddly satisfying Mirrormask. I'm pumped. This game is a must buy, if you're into the Japanese side of gaming.

that vid doesn't do this game any justice at all, check gametrailers.com for the stunning HD version
I am really hyped for this game, the art style looks beautiful and the story looks very cool
and IMO I don't see anything wrong with voice acting but then again english isn't my first language

Is this action, turn based, or like FFXII? If it's more of an action RPG i might be interested. Graphics look great.

I've never been a fan of Japanese Action RPG's but that game looks stunning.
Given, the storyline looks a bit quirky but I'm willing to give it a chance. What JRPG isn't quirky?
The voice acting sounds fantastic, Irish accents are WIN!

I dont see why some people compare this game to that pos Kameo. Maybe the monster ability thing is like it but then again Kameo is not the first game featuring that either. It looks very promising and I will definitely pick it up in the future. Not sure if this will sell well but I hope it will for future exclusives. If future exclusives dont do well we will see less of them.

@3: It's an action-rpg type game. Everything is in real time. You basically kill monsters and harvest their souls, and then summon the souls later on as special attacks.
I don't see why other game media sites are bashing on this game. The former editor of OPM was on thr 1up podcast saying how much she thought it looked like generic crap, yet she was drooling and wide-eyed about flOw? A lot of these people seem to be ACTING hardcore but are really game newbs if you take into consideration their tastes and gaming experience. Then again, I guess you don't get to actually play games much when you are busy doing all that magazine shit.

Seeing the cgi cut scenes next to the actual game play makes me realize that the PS3 hasn't really come that far graphics wise. That said this game does look great, I'd just rather be playing it on my PS2.

I voted for this game in Poll Police yesterday, and I would vote for it again and again. It looks to incorporate all my favorite aspects of RPGs with a touch of horroresque themes (Shadow Hearts, anyone?). If I didn't have a PS3, I would seriously consider buying one for this game! And blasphemizer, what about this reminds you of PS2 quality graphics?
As for the VA, there will almost certainly be a Japanese track, as it's the exact line up who gave us Genji: DotB, with J-VA track. Regardless, I didn't have any shutter moments with the English VC, so either way seems alright to me :)

Gameplay looks fun.

Voice acting needs some help.
Storyline sounds really emotionally tagged (i.e. cheesy)
I'll wait for the reviews. This is the kind of game where the story can kill it.

The problem I have is with the game play graphics. The cut scenes are top notch and look great but the actual game play doesn't look that impressive, its a step in the right direction but not where I expect things should be.

I would like to know more about the song. is it wiritten for the game like the Silent Hill songs or is it a "normal" japanese song laid over the vid?

I heard the woman’s Irish accent and thought "Hey, cool"
Then she mentioned Limerick.
I LIVE in County Limerick, and work in Limerick City. The game must be set in Ireland (Dublin is written on the envelope)
