Upcoming firmware 3.50 fixes Remote Play

With Advanced Remote Play, PSP owners can access content stored on the PS3 from any wi-fi connection in the world. Not only will the new PS3 1.80 firmware be necessary for Remote Play to properly function, but according new press materials, PSP firmware 3.50 will also be required. According to Sony, firmware 3.50 will be available "at the end of May," although more specifics were not provided. Additional enhancements to be found on the firmware were not made available, but we're thinking it might have something to do with PSP's newfound VoIP functionality.

1.)How much you wanna bet this somehow ties in with the killzone patch?
2.)and who is taking bets of how long it will take dark-alex to hack the firmware?
Tristan @ May 23rd 2007 12:26PM
Yeah and I cant wait for them to release the camera here, why release it on the firmware of past and lack the camera to take pictures with?
Hopefully it is something better than secuirty enhancements.

I don't think it would matter if Dark_Alex hacked the firmware or not. Mostly because from what I understand the remote play feature was removed from his firmware to make room for the added features. Although I do use his firmware I don't use the remote play thing so I can't be sure about that.

@ #7:
You're wrong, Dark_AleX removed Location Free, not Remote Play. It works just fine on 3.40-OE.
patrick @ May 23rd 2007 4:21PM
OK sorry #8 I knew he removed something in the firmware I just wasn't sure what it was. I didn't use either of those features so I guess I didn't miss what I never used.

. . . there's nothing wrong with my remote play now. Hell, I didn't even know there was an issue.
lucasbbadur @ May 23rd 2007 6:57PM
I came here to ask about the OE firmware (Dark Alex's)
But I see it was already answered...
Someone told me that it didn't worked on OE, but I guess it wasn't right.
Badur @ May 23rd 2007 7:00PM
ps: I thought the PS3 would "read" the PSP's firmware and block OEs and such.
KanataThunder @ May 23rd 2007 8:26PM
@EvoAnubis
You have it successfully working at any hotspot? I've only been able to get it within my own house but not from a remote area.
badr_mj @ May 24th 2007 8:42AM
the them like the ps3 cool
EvoAnubis @ May 24th 2007 10:03AM
Yeah. I had it on remote play, went over to my friend's house 7 miles away, and had access to everything on his Wi-Fi.
