Square Enix teases us with upcoming Kingdom Hearts news

A short interview was conducted with some members of the Square Enix PR department by the folks over at RPGamer. While there isn't that much truly invigorating information, we thought it'd be nice to bring you up to speed on some of the anticipated titles that, we hope, make their way onto the PS3. Also of note are Square Enix's tentative plans for the PlayStation Store. Enticed? Summary below.- The PS Store is too young to decide if content is worth posting, says Square Enix. Would we really want another version of a Final Fantasy game anyway? We'd love to see something like Einhander make its way onto the store, though ...
- The next Kingdom Hearts title (they didn't specify whether it would be the third main installment or another off-shoot title) will get announced at the Tokyo Game Show.
- Also not-yet-officially-announced is a special party hosted by Square Enix on June 26. It will take place at the PlayStation Store in San Fransisco. More details on that later.
We're fairly sure that the Kingdom Hearts announcement will be for an offshoot title for a handheld. Not sure why; just a gut reaction. As for the PS Store, while it is young, it will never get older if developers don't give it worthwhile titles. In fact, in our latest podcast, we sort of touched on the topic -- Japan is getting a ton of PS One titles and we've gotten none for the past couple of months. Surely this will change soon, Sony?

if they are making a Kingdom Heart games for handheld, please let it be for PSP? Although I wouldn't know why they would announce an DS game in PS store.

I'm sorry, the PSP would ruin the kingdom hearts series. Without the right analog stick to control the camera, it would be a wreck. This is my favorite series by far and I would hate to see it get criticized like the first one did because of some camera issues. Unless it's kind of a chain of memories thing going on, I don't really see another KH handheld game in the works. However, a PS3off shoot title seems more accurate. It's that or a Wii exclusive.

now, I understand judging a title early before the final release. but judging a title before the official announcement? that's just ridiculous. I have FUN confidence that ENIX can solve any problem they are facing. funny how the camera issue hasn't come up in any of the Crisis Core hand-on reviews. hmmmm.

Anyways, Yeah, The PS1 games aren't selling because they are CRAP! Who wants to pay to play wipeOut 1? Gimme WipeOut XL and I'll make my first purchase. The games up right now are crap! Of course they won't sell! Sony better not be judging things from the initial sales of these crap titles. A lot of poeple who want to play these already know someone who will give it to them for free, or its 1$ at the local pawn shop. They should lower the price on the ps1 games, and start releasing some ps2 games. Say, roll out the greatist hits catalogues.

Well i think its most likley PS3 at least if not exclusive.. The "special party" will be hosted at a PLAYSTATION STORE.... so a wild guess would be it will be very PS3 related...same if it were in a MS store or Nintendo store

They're announcing the next KH at the next Tokyo Game Show - not in the PS Store. Did any of you read the article? >.<
Whether it's on PS3, DS or PSP I don't mind, so long as it's a decent game.

Where in the interview does it say Einhander for download? I love Einhander and would buy if tomorrow if available.
