300 and Saw want you to "play beyond" their movies
It's not even funny anymore. Seriously. Movies making the transfer to video games need to stop somewhere. While we knew a game based on the amazingly fantastic testosterone-fest 300 was inevitable, we have no idea who thought making a game based on the torture/puzzle movies of the Saw universe made any sense at all. What's next, Hostel: The Game? That would be crap.New publisher Brash Entertainment is paving the way, deciding to cater exclusively to games based off of movies, TV, or music licenses. They've already got 5 movie studios to support them, with over 12 projects underway including the two we've mentioned. Not Hostel, though. Not yet. We always wish every developer and publisher the best of luck, but this Brash Entertainment ... it deserves a slap. Unless movie/TV games start to show us something that doesn't suck, we've got nothing more to say. If they make 300 suck, that's it. No more movie games. Ever.

I was waiting for 300 the game that would be dope. But they better notmake it really bad like all the other movie video games.

You're so full of it Nick. Soon as Days of our Lives: Game On! comes out you'll see the potential. Pave the way brave leaders!

Somehow, Saw seems like a great idea for a Wii game. They should make it into some sort of party title to play with friends... I don't even know if I'm being sarcastic or not.

Just curious about the 300 game. Would you have to lose a certain way to win?

saw = manhunt on wii. its been done. as far as a 300 game i think it be pretty cool, it could take place after the end of the movie and you command a general of the spartan army that went on to challange the persians after the fall of the 300. but if history has show us anything is that pretty much anything with a movie lisence tie in is bound to suck major ass. their are exceptions to that rule but only a few

300 is already on the PSP and it sucks major ass! Hope this company is out to make good games not just easy money off the fans of these movies.

On the subject of lame movie to game conversions, the other day i was looking on the Codemasters website for the release date for DiRT (for PC, i confess) and even though its a PC title I believe I have found the mother of all desperate movie tie ins...
http://www.codemasters.co.uk/dirtydancing/
The URL sadly gives it away, but as the website says:
'Have the time of your life with the new Dirty Dancing video game!'
Excuse me codemasters, but i *THINK* you've kinda missed the boat on that film/game combo havent you?
Dirty Dancing FTW!!!

RIP, Spiderman 2. Your third iteration was unworthy.

Oh, um, "P"? Everyone knows already. At least, the millions upon millions of people who read Penny Arcade already know. You're almost as behind the times as Codemasters.
