We have a new blog competitor: Sony
Uh-oh ... are the PlayStation Fanboy blogs in trouble? Sony has thrown off their gloves, and they're ready to go head-to-head against us in the blogosphere. The top people from Sony Computer Entertainment America will be sharing their thoughts on the state of PlayStation, and will undoubtedly leak a few secrets along the way.
The PlayStation.Blog will feature "product news and title announcements to developer updates and industry opinion posts – all of which will come straight from the people here inside SCEA who are working, thinking and playing with this stuff every day." (Editor's note: it's two words, Pat.)
Of course, we kid about this whole "competitor" thing. We've pushed Sony incessantly on getting more proactive with the gaming community, and it looks like they've finally taken our advice. This is a step in the right direction, and we can't wait to find out more from the PlayStation.Blog.

Pretty much Gamerscore and/or Major Nelson blog.
I find them both cool to read though as it shows where their focus and mindset is as a company.
Naaiif @ Jun 11th 2007 4:16PM
You just know their comment sections are going to get spammed with insults.
Ninegauger @ Jun 11th 2007 4:18PM
I wouldn't worry about them competing if the PSP and PS3 are anything to go by...
These company blogs are great and interesting when things are good... but when things go sour (Guitar Hero II DLC for example) they have to toe the company line... which is kind of disheartening, but that's what non-company blogs are for.

Whilst it's nice to have an official blog, I'll keep coming back to PS3Fanboy and Kotaku for extra info an official blog wouldn't dare post. Rumors and shiz.

@Naaiif,
Judging by the comments on ThreeSpeech, it doubt it’ll be so bad. Plus, they are pretty clear in saying that they moderate comments. Doh.

finally.

I guess they have some more work to do before going live LOL

It will be nice to get information and know it's directly from the horses mouth. I'm sure Sony Anti-Fanboys will be spamming in force, but according to their welcome poste, they will have a "commenting policy" which may eliminate the pointless bash comments.

I REALLLY hope this is the big JUNE 11th Announcement Thing, neither this or The Agency, because if it isn,t Im kicking SOMEBODY ass. But all jokes aside does anybody know what the announcement was, please tell cause I thought it was going to be some knew Killzone PS3 footage.
Andrew Yoon @ Jun 12th 2007 4:10PM
It was The Agency, folks. If you listened to our podcast, you heard that the internet completely blew that "big Sony thing" out of proportion.
matjet @ Jun 14th 2007 12:18AM
it is nice that not only is the site updating about twice daily, but the people doing the posting are varied and include some of the people from the very top of the corporate ladder. tretton actually gets to speak like a normal person instead of having to keep up the normal pr mask.
my post is gone but im fine with that.
matjet @ Jun 14th 2007 12:19AM
