Everything you want to know about TimeShift

The old story, recorded dialogue with Dennis Quaid and Michael Ironside included, has been scrapped. Gone is the tragic war veteran who lost his daughter and replacing him is you, the player. Taking on a classic RPG style of unnamed protagonist, you're just a player in the war game, so to speak. If you were a silent protagonist, that'd be awesome, but unlikely. Regardless, you travel to an alternate timeline and take on an army of warriors protecting the man who changed the flow of time to make himself leader of all things gritty, dark, and somber.
A new time-control scheme lies in your suit, dubbed S.S.A.M. and given a female persona. One button controls the ability to stop, slow, or rewind time, depending on which would be most beneficial in a given situation. Using these in the levels would be nice, but the first four completed levels were completely scrapped, replaced by gigantic new ones, each with a specific purpose to advance the story. There's plenty more to discuss, like the enhanced AI, puzzle-solving opportunities and other gameplay gimmicks, but we'll stop here and let you check the rest out on your own. Shooters have to try harder to differentiate themselves from one another and this game is trying harder than most.

I still have my Xbox and my PS3 is bigger but looks much nicer.(both in the hardware and the games)
There is going to be less and less exclusive third party games coming out. Unless they are getting fed money by the corporations. Which would make them second party sortof.
Anyways this game looks fun. Any game dealing with time travel is good fun. This game probably could have been done on the Xbox but with the Xbox at the end of its lifecycle nobody is putting in games into it. Hey Microsoft I still want games for my Xbox. When I buy a console I want it to last more than 3 years! I totally off the map with all these comments. o

yeah, i totally agree on that massive_98. i had my xbox for what 2 years, got halo 2 and ninja gaiden black (still play NG black).
i do wish the ps3 came in a dull matte texture like the ps2, as it is now it's more prone to scuffs and fingerprint marks. although it does look pretty sexy next to those korean models...

I thought the developers said they had to remove the rewind feature? So now it only does pause and slow....
I dunno. Maybe they changed their minds again?

This game sounds crazy. "Combat potential because, if you're spotted by an enemy you can rewind time to before they saw you, or you can stop time to take the weapon out of his hands or to get behind him."
Then they go on to add how smart the AI is. If one dude in a team gets shot, he'll yell he's hit and limp for cover while his buddy flanks to take out the threat. Also if you use some time-shifting stunt to remove the weapon from guy A while guy B stands there, then shoot guy A, when you un-freeze time, guy A will go get his gun off the ground and return fire.
It really sounds like alot of fun. I can imagine all kinds of funny things to do in a game like this. The old pinless grenade at a dude's feet with time paused will be an instant classic.
