Next week, PS3 gamers are finally going to get (shock!) a real game. 2K Games is releasing The Darkness to the Americas next week. We've received a batch of new screenshots from the game, showcasing some of its brutal, gory gameplay. We're working with 2K Games right now to have something real special for you ... Stay tuned for more details.
As good as this looks, I'm still on the fence. Not only is it a multi-platform release which means we have to see if the ps3 version received a proper job, but also it's based on licensed property. I know they did a great job with Riddick, but still. Fingers crossed and money waiting.
Hopefully Matt, I remember reading about them using the blu-ray's abundant space to add small extras to the game like full shows on the in-game televisions and such. Still keeping them fingers crossed though.
Could you please confirm your source regarding a European delay of one month? The two major online retailers in the UK both show a release date of 29th June (Play/Amazon).
I have been looking forward to this game so much to fill the void of PS3 releases here (I still only have just two full games for the console!).
Humm... now the question ... on which console does it look/play better. Owning both, I tend to favour the 360 for the achievements. And, unless it is markedly better on the PS3 I will likely go that route.
Nice to see in a post yesterday that Sony is building Achievements into a future software rev. Unfortunately for them, even if Sony can duplicate the 360 achievement system, I'll likely favour the 360 platform, all things equal, to consolidate my achievements in one place.
But for both Sony and my sakes, I hope this game is markedly better on the PS3 to give me a reason to purchase it. I'm so tired of my expensive PS3 being used for little more than playing God of War.
Your comment doesn't make much sense. To a certain extent if you have played one FPS you have played them all, but there are things that change. For example atmosphere, story, weapons, graphics, etc. If this was a WWII themed game I'd whole-heartedly agree with you. This looks like some fresh blood though, and I can't wait to give it a whirl.
Your skill comment is just plain retarded though... maybe you shouldn't play them on easy.

@whatthe:
I'm not sure if you think you really think you stumbled upon a hot news item or just a troll, but that happened a month or two ago.

I have to save my money for fall. So I probably won't pick this one up yet.

mccomber,
I thought I read that it was built on the PS3 and ported from there. So there should be no issue with the game.

I'll be glad to pick this up. Looks devilishly fun. Every time I see this screen shot I crack up:
