The games of summer 2007: Action

While movie goers often look forward to the flood of summer blockbusters, gamers often are forced to deal with a drought of entertainment. Despite this stereotype, PSP does have a flock of impressive titles headed to gamers this summer. So while you spend time at the beach this summer, you may want to bring along your PSP.
Action movies are always the most populated category when it comes to summer flicks. It seems appropriate then that so many action games are hitting our favorite portable this summer. Here's a look at what those titles are:
June
Rainbow Six Vegas
Transformers The Game
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Tomb Raider Anniversary
July
Manhunt 2
August
Alien Syndrome
Coded Arms Contagion
Silent Hill Origins
Dead Head Fred
Ghost Recon Advanced WarFighter 2
Monster Hunter Freedom 2
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes
What games are our readers going to be chilling with this summer? Which of these games would you like PSP Fanboy to write about?

bring your psp to the beach!?!?!? you wouldn't be able to see or hear anything on it, and sand would scratch the shit out of it and jam the buttons not to mention the risk of a little 4 year old brat dumping water on it lol, no thanx

Tales of the World, seriously why is that not on the list.
Seriously...it's like one of the reason I bought my PSP. July 17, I'm counting down the days.

Please cover the hoopla that will be Manhunt 2 when its release date nears. I'd like to know if it's worth picking up especially since I really didn't like the story (or lack thereof) and gameplay of the first. I'm also interested in Alien Syndrome, Silent Hill Origins, and Dead Head Fred.

Re: "Tales of the World" - this is an *action* game list, when he gets to RPG it will be front and center :)
I loved Tomb Raider: Anniversary on the PC and am looking forward to the PSP version. Aside from that, I hope the new Coded Arms is decent, and am looking forward to Dead Head Fred

I guess I spoke too soon. Looks like we probably won't see Manhunt 2 anytime soon even if Rockster decides to re-cut the game.

Coded Arms Contagion would be on the June list if it wasn't delayed so much...

Where did you get a realease date for Silent Hill: Origins from? Did Konami give offical word?! Must...find...out!
merc25 @ Jun 20th 2007 9:41PM
If these are action titles, then what will the adventure titles be? Ever since the death of text and point-n-click adventures the genre has been loosely defined.
The list includes Alien Syndrome, which the developers of that game call it an Action RPG(watch the interviews with them).

Point & Click adventures are making quite a ince comeback recently for PC and also now the DS. But the PSP lends itself to different styles of games, more platform adventures.

Yeah, on Manhunt 2 ... since Sony has said 'no way to AO' either Manhunt 2 gets cut or canned ... either way I think the date will have to move. I just hope we don't lose the game.

Monster Hunter 2 looks kickass as does Naruto! Agree with the first poster about the impracticality of outdoor use though...pretty hard to see anything in bright sunshine, and I guard that thing with my LIFE... practically shat bricks the couple times it got dropped but thankfully it has thus far survived over 2 years of inadvertent abuse! Seriously thought my PSP would die from a drop...not that I recommend it!

Silent Hill Origins seems like it will be a really good one. I cannot wait for it!!!

Naruto looks good to me. I haven't purchased the PS2 version because I'm waiting for the PSP version.
And where is your Rainbow Six Vegas review?!?!?!?
It was nice of you to link to that YouTube video but what about a full review from PSPFanboy that talks about the single player campaign?
