Here's one of those rumors that hit you hard out of left field or some other such sports analogy to better facilitate understanding between messenger and receiver. SCEE representative Jonathan Fargher
spilled a short list of exclusive titles due to hit shelves before the end of the year while defending the PS3: "Title due to hit shelves in the Christmas run-up include the latest installment of favourites such as
Grand Theft Auto,
Metal Gear Solid,
Ratchet and Clank,
Crash Bandicoot, and
Jak and Daxter." Yeah, he said
Jak and Daxter. We had very little idea this game was even beyond the planning stage!
It's true that Sony has been holding out a lot of information to win the hearts of everyone at E3, but this is a huge and successful franchise they've been keeping a lid on. We're going to add this to the list of wishful thinking, but who knows. It very well might make a showing at E3, TGS, and retail shelves this holiday season. We'll keep our fingers crossed if you guys do!

E3 Sony is going to steal the show. We already know about Halo 3 and Mario, but Sony is keeping a tight lid on their games except for a few.

Considering Naughty Dog is working on Uncharted for a holiday release, it seems unlikely to me that they'd have the time or the intention to release both games so close to each other.

i am so excited, I just got my DS to connect to my wireless. Yay for me!!! I should probably be saying this on dsfanboy. Oh well. Yay YAY Yay

Isn't the team who made Shadow and ICO working on a PS3 and PSP game? I wonder what they have in store for us. Shadow is probably the best game that nobody played.
back to the topic, I am not a HUGE fan of the series, but hey, just another game to boost the end of 07 library. Sony's price cut + mountains of game = gaining some momentum.

I highly doubt Christmas, maybe sometime next year.
Would be nice though!
Ninegauger @ Jun 24th 2007 8:32PM
Yeah, I'd be curious as to who is making it as it's probably not Naughty Dog... which begs the question of quality.
I'll pass on Final Fantasy and Metal Gear... but I do love my Jak and Daxter games...
I'm intrigued... your move Sony.
Dahk @ Jun 24th 2007 9:06PM
Metal Gear Solid before Christmas!?!? WOOOOOOO!
Popfrogs @ Jun 24th 2007 11:50PM
Wow, another confirmation of MGS4 before the end of this year. Can it be true? Now all we're missing is FFXIII...
rockeranimefreak @ Jun 25th 2007 12:19AM
Jak and Daxter was my favorite ps2 game :) if its out on ps3 sony is being smart we'll see at e3.
CowJoMonkey @ Jun 25th 2007 12:46AM
I love the Jak and Daxter series, and have all of them. I would love to see another one, but Naughty Dog is making Uncharted right now for a Fall release. So if another company is making it i rather not have it at all because the company is probably not triple A like Naughty Dog.
Badlander @ Jun 25th 2007 2:35AM
I suspect a slip of the tongue - probably meant Ratchet & Clank. Easy enough to mix up your cartoonish mascot duos ;)
But what's this about Crash Bandicoot?
Jnas @ Jun 25th 2007 6:52AM
Grand theft auto? But thats multiplatform. That ruins the credibility of that article.

Titles due to hit the shelves in the Christmas run-up include the latest instalment of favourites such as Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid, and Drakes: Uncharted Fortune, which is from the same creators as Crash Bandicoot, and Jak and Daxter, he added.
hmmm
Jnas @ Jun 25th 2007 7:05AM
PS3 fanboy, learn how to read.
"Titles due to hit the shelves in the Christmas run-up include the latest instalment of favourites such as Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid, and Drakes: Uncharted Fortune, which is from the same creators as Crash Bandicoot, and Jak and Daxter, he added."
WHICH IS FROM THE SAME CREATORS AS CRASH BANDICOOT AND JAK AND DAXTER.
The creators of both are Naughty Dog, which are making Uncharted.
Jeez...you guys really are fanboys..
Popfrogs @ Jun 25th 2007 8:56AM
@jnasty:
Oh what a difference a comma makes. It's easy to see why this was misinterpreted.
For example:
I have a bear and a wolf, with a cobra as a backup.
or
I have a bear and a wolf with a cobra as a backup.
In the second sentence it seems like the wolf is the one with the cobra, not the speaker.
Andy @ Jun 25th 2007 11:20AM
Which is the best Jak and Daxter to play? (PS2 versions only please)
Badlander @ Jun 25th 2007 11:42AM
Jnas, the original source made a mistake, which they have corrected in the text without an apology. I read it this morning and it is as quoted here.
