Rumours abound in the latest issue of EGM: Parasite Eve 3?

EGM's superspy extraordinaire, Quatermann, has revealed some interesting nuggets of information in the latest issue of the magazine. They all center around the PS3 and they're all exciting. Don't forget though, they are still rumours. Doesn't stop us hoping though.It seems that our own Nick Doerr is a bit of a Nostradamus. Just this morning, he predicted an unannounced non-mobile phone sequel to the Parasite Eve series. Well if Quatermann is to be believed, the next proper Parasite Eve is already in development. He also insists that Sony and Epic Games are in talks and are working together to optimise the Unreal Engine 3 for use on the PS3. Oh, and there's a potential PS3 exclusive coming out of it.
Despite Metal Gear Solid 4 being pegged for a fiscal 2007 release, there's a chance that Hideo Kojima may also be working on another title right now. Quatermann insists that it is not Zone of the Enders 3. Finally, Sony are due to release a wiimote style remote before Christmas. Not a bad selection of rumours. We'd definitely be happy if Parasite Eve and an Epic Games exclusive come to pass. We'll keep our eyes out for any developments.

I have been waiting for this so hopefully its true! I truly think the PE games where under-rated.

I think it's worth noting Jem, that the wiimote style remote is rumored to be for the PS2...and not the PS3. I could really do without a ton of fannie crap flying around today if at all possible.
Parasite Eve 1 is sitting on my shelf. Still haven't tried it since my friend let me borrow it. Maybe I should now? Also, I somehow don't see Epic wanting to help Sony. I think they will help optimize the UE3 engine so developers that have UE3 licenses can download the updates and get PS3 games working better- but beyond that I don't think Epic likes Sony very much.
What's weird is that when Epic first announced UT2007 they were always talking about how awesome the PS3 is, and that they wanted to focus UT2007 on PS3 as much as possible because it can do some things that the 360 couldn't, and 360 would get it's own game. They seemed to be so excited, and then all of the sudden after the E3 when PS3's price was announced they seem to do a complete turn-around and have been pretty critical of Sony ever since.
Sure, they want their games to make money and be on platforms that help them do so, but I don't think they should have been that immature about it. They acted like they saw their best friend hanging out with someone else at the mall or some crap.
These rumors are the only worth-while stuff I ever see out of EGM. Luckily you guys post it online so I don't need to waste money on a subscription! :)

My take on the "rumors"
Parasite Eve would be very welcome.
I have no doubt Epic is helping Sony optimize the UE3, after all Epic wants to sell their middleware to everyone. But, an exclusive coming out of a graphicaly watered down engine due to video ram limitations, (Epic stated this themselves) I doubt it. Wishful thinking at best. Besides Mark Rein has repeated stated the love affair that's going on between them and MS at the moment.
Lastly in the Wii Mote thing. Well, if you can't beat them, copy them. Seems to be a common theme with Sony nowadays.

In business, if you're successful enough and profitable enough, purchasing other company's is part of the game. Seems a better business model, to me, then stealing other companies ideas, and then claiming they're your own, or that suddenly it's not "last gen" now that your system is going to have it, or make assine claims of when the future of nex gen gaming begins, and you stall out at the starting line. But, that's just me.

We can debate business ethics all day, but the fact of the matter is, if the patents aren't encompassing enough, a successful product will be immitated. In the same vein, if a company isn't big enough, they constantly risk being strong armed or bought out.
What's absolutely ludicrous is believing that Microsoft is somehow the lesser of two evils. I hope you like the Boardwalk, because if Microsoft wins the gaming sector, all we'll be playing is Monopoly.

Game|Life recently contacted Sony for a comment on the situation are were given the following response:
“This rumor is absolutely not true. There are currently no plans to add motion-sensing capability to the PlayStation 2 controller.”

Sony has some advantages as does Microsoft. Unfortunately, while your head is spinning, and your mouth is frothing out the corporate line for Sony, you fail to see the truth.
Try getting another job so you can afford both systems, such as an obvious hero of yours suggested, and then you'll see the light. Until then, you're nothing other then Sony Fanboy Fluff, with zero credibility.

I really hope epic is making a PS3 exclusive. Also a P3mote would be kewl put I hope games can use both normal sixaxis controller and this new wiimote.

For your information. I will not buy a Microsoft product. Especially one that has such a high failure rate. Both my friends that have a 360 have had it fail in less than 8 months. That's sad.
And FYI, I CAN afford both system. I choose not to. professional game developers do make some well deserved cash. ;) And, no. I don't work for Sony, FYI.

You say that like you have some sort of credibility? Please. With a blatantly "occupational" posting name, you are either lying and using what is known in the industry as a pathetic job as some sort of "credentials" or you truly are a "web master". Either case tells me exactly the "credentials" we're dealing with.
Oh, but I could have said I own all three systems to make believe that I know all there is to know about marketing and business. I guess that's what I'll have to do from now on. That logic is brilliant since (as you must know)... owning every make of car will suddenly give me insight to the auto industry as well. Please. Who's mouth is frothing again?

It'a actualy funny how I've never made comment as to what I do, what level of education I have, or the amount of money I personally make, but you've made your assumtions from the beginning. To each his own. As for showing ones credentials, as you said, you're a professional game dev, and I'm sure just about everyone else is a millionaire. Isn't everyone on the internet? I've not made such claims, however in my own life's experience have found those with the wherewithall will usually have more then one of anything, including game consoles, and the rabid defenders of any one console, i.e. fanboy, usually can not or their parents will only spring for one gaming console.
Just keep on blindly defending Sony, I know who is frothing at the mouth. Sucking up to Sony, Nintendo, or MS isn't good for the gaming community nor is it good for gamers in general-but that's my opinion.

Prove one lie I've stated. I don't lie, there's really no reason to, not to mention, it's just not my style. Hell with the PR depts of the gaming console corps, you'd have to be an idiot to resort to lieing but they're able to continue because of their respective fanboys who'll drink every last ounce of kool-aid they send out-no questions asked.
As for "stuffing it up my ass", I don't swing that way, but don't hold it against you if that's your preference. Different strokes for different folks.

And I've already explained why I don't have a 360. Thanks for reading. There's no blindness. I have totally open eyes here. The 360 hardware is the absolute worst hardware on the market. I even place it below my old Samsung n400 which would lock up on me at strange times. You completely ignored my post and continued ranting on how bad of a person I am.
I made a guess based on your user name about your occupation, and as stated before, you are either pathetic enough to try to use it as a "credential" for your posts or you actually are a webmaster. Again, if you had actually read my post, you would have seen that. As far as I'm concerned (and as you've pointed out) there's no way to prove anyone's credentials here. Short of me actually revealing my workplace and phone number so you can call me (which I'm not doing) there's no way you can prove or disprove that I actually do game development. So why are you going off on a rant on how your experience and/or "knowledge" is the norm?

There have been rumors before. An ancient copy of PSM (from 02 or 03, I think) said there was a rumor that Parasite Eve Rebirth would be coming a few years before the end of the PS2's lifespan, with a "70%" chance. Oops... but maybe it shifted developmental platforms? Anything's possible.
