Shooting stuff in slow motion isn't as original as it was way back in
Max Payne days. That's why
TimeShift is making that now "meh" function the focus of its gameplay, promising to breathe new life into time altering mechanics. We gave you a
pretty comprehensive look at the game a while back, but we skipped over the multiplayer details. Now we have them, so we'll give them to you.
- Customization: you can create and name your own play modes, so if you want a no-gravity knife match, you can call it "Space Shiv" or something. The customization also presents ways to level the playing field. Sorry, "spawn camping whores," but you won't get kills that way in this game.
- Implementing time mechanics is still shaky, but it'll play like some kind of rock-paper-scissors. Using "slow" should trump "reverse" while reverse trumps "stop" ... full circle, "stop" trumps "slow." So it's Reverse -> Stop -> Slow -> Reverse. At this point in time, at least.
It's not much detail yet, but from the excitement the dev team over at Saber Interactive, they believe in it strongly. It might be the most customizable multiplayer shooter ever. We'll see!

£10 (Thats about $10,000USD these days, or 1% of the cost of a PS3 here ;)) to the first person who can make some sense out of the rock/paper/scissors stuff at the end :?
*cough* utter nonsense *cough*

According to Gamespot...the time shifting element is decided for you now...you don't worry about the rock paper scissors:
The vaunted time-control mechanics in TimeShift--which brought to mind the similar abilities in the cutesy Xbox platformer Blinx--have been thoroughly condensed. Previously, you could stop, slow down, or rewind time at your leisure, but this proved too complex for many of the game's situations. Now, your suit will do all the decision-making for you. At any given moment, it will be tracking all the specifics of your situation, and you'll merely have to hit a single context-sensitive time button to engage the most appropriate power. The developers are referring to the suit as Sam right now, since it's sentient and sort of a character in its own right, somewhat like Halo's Cortana. In essence, the designers have taken the puzzle-solving element out of the game and made it a faster-paced experience more along the lines of Call of Duty--less thinking, more shooting, in other words.

Wait, I thought this game was a PS3 exclusive? and someone respond to this?

So the developers are basically saying "this game is too hard for you, here's the dumbed-down version". I don't know if I like that. One thing missing from today's games is genuine, controller-throwing, cat-kicking challenge. That's why I keep checking Gamestop for Ninja Gaiden Sigma, it has a metric ton of challenge.
