Update: Poll has changed, so please cast your votes again if you voted on the old version!]
It's already Sunday again? We suppose we have to put our voting uniforms back on and arrest a moment of your time to vote once more. This week marks the second part of our E3 interrogation. Our question this time is more of a large "what if ... " scenario, but we like to think about surprises. What would surprise you most at E3? What kind of announcement would drive you crazy? This week will be software and next week we'll focus on surprise hardware announcements. Yes, that's right, part two of the E3 questionnaire is two parts long, too.
There are an infinite number of games that simply should not be at E3, but those are some of the biggest ones we'd consider a surprise. Most of those aren't even slated for release, keeping a TBA 2008 stamp just for show.
If you want to see the results from last week's poll, check it out after the jump. As always, thanks for your vote!

Last time around, we asked what high-profile title you expected to blow you away at E3. Games that we knew were going to have a showing and games we know are supposed to be fantastic. Out of your votes, it's been made clear that exactly half of you that voted desire the utmost potential from
Killzone 2. We're not surprised -- it's been a huge secret for nearly two years. The other two heavy-hitters, also unsurprisingly, were
Metal Gear Solid 4 and
Final Fantasy XIII, even though we probably won't get anything playable from them. Thanks for voting!

other. as in FFVII. I know, its a Looooong shot. But i have hopes and dreams too, ya know..
Skyfire360 @ Jul 1st 2007 1:56PM
I'm with #1, FFVII would be a huge surprise.
Something that would be a nice surprise - and not completely unlikely like VII - is a new Zone of the Enders game
ndoerr @ Jul 1st 2007 2:01PM
Great thinking against the grain! I'm going to add those to the poll, actually. Make sure you vote again!
insane257 @ Jul 1st 2007 2:30PM
thanks ndoerr.
It would be a huge surprise but i have my own theory about FFVII. Sorry about this, but i'll have to tell you anyway. Final Fantasy XIII (Fabula Nova Crystalis Project) has been said to last 10 years by Square-Enix, which takes us to 2017. Sony announced the PS3 will also last 10 years. That takes us to 2017. What's so special about 2017? Well, it'll be Final Fantasy VII's anniversary. Could we see a re-make for the anniversary? Just like FF1 & 2? I think so.
ndoerr @ Jul 1st 2007 3:18PM
@ insane257 -- not a bad theory at all. It just depends on whether they want to announce it on their 10th or 20th anniversary, I suppose. Regardless of your opinion on the game (I've gotten a lot of flak for mine), the remake would move systems like a [insert proper analogy here]. Who knows.

FFVII is the Sony (and FF) fanboys' pipe-dream
similar to the Nintendo fanboys' HDD ambitions
And MS fanboys' delusions of MGS4
What's the percentage that Lair got in the earlier poll? Such are the chances of any of the above occurring
Jeremy Bogdan @ Jul 1st 2007 4:19PM
God I hope ICO pulls out a Shadow of the Colossus 2! SotC was incredible, and on PS3 with all the bells and whistles I can't even imagine what it would look like.
Kxpuc @ Jul 1st 2007 4:49PM
if it was on the list i'd say a PS3 version of FFXI like there is a PS2 and 360 version which is harmed by the fact there's a PS2 version
Andir3.0 @ Jul 1st 2007 5:37PM
Would it really surprise you if you were expecting it to be a surprise?
Andres @ Jul 1st 2007 5:47PM
being a 360 owner the one thas on that lest that i really wanna see is Silent Hill 5 im a HUGE fan of the series especially since it MAY be coming to the 360
ryano @ Jul 1st 2007 6:04PM
@Andres
Silent Hill 5 is coming to 360. in fact it's being developed on the 360 first (my friend works at The Collective). developing for the PS3 first then porting to 360 would just slow down their progress. (yeah american developers are real jugheads when dealing with foreign technology)
sorry to rain on the PS3 fanboy parade but those are the facts. rejoice Andres, rejoice.
ryano @ Jul 1st 2007 6:37PM
how clearer can i be?
Konomi picked The Collective to develop Silent Hill 5. (the yankee company mentioned in the recent EGM mag).
The Collective is more familiar with the 360.
The PS3 is a much more difficult machine to code for.
to meet their progress quota and have something to show for Konomi, 360 development was the the choice they made. similar to why Rock Star started with GTA 4 before working with the PS3. (the footage and live demos shown thus far for GTA 4 have been on the 360.) they wanted the game up and running as soon as possible.
i'd like certain systems to just have their exclusives and not dumb down content for other machines. but i also would like the game to come out in a timely fashion. the 360 apparently is easier to do this.
i've never touched the inside guts of a PS3 so i...probably am not one to talk. i'm just going off hearsay from a company disgruntled with creating games for the PS3.
you don't have to believe me. just wait for it's announcement next month. they might say it's coming to PS3. but it might be a while for it's translation.
adam @ Jul 1st 2007 8:55PM
Im sick of hearing people cry and complain about which system is better.
I own both systems. and both systems have its strong and weak points.
So get over it already. And if you were smart youd wake up and realize both system will have or already have games that worth buying.
ryano @ Jul 1st 2007 9:55PM
who's crying and complaining?
i was simply relaying the news...
ryano @ Jul 1st 2007 10:20PM
*edit*
a poster by the name of Andir3.0 has told me that the Cell inside a PS3 is not hard at all to work with. it just requires a different way of thinking.
The Collective isn't willing to learn a new way of making games. Silent Hill 5 is their 1st "next gen" game (Dirty Harry was canceled a few months back).
in other words, Andres, good buddy, we all lose.
i'm sorry.
mccomber @ Jul 1st 2007 11:28PM
Those would pretty much all be welcome surprises, but I'm looking forward to the day when we see what Team ICO will bring to the table. I seriously doubt it will be at E3, or even in the next couple years, but someday...
bigFoote @ Jul 2nd 2007 12:48AM
Gran Turismo playable demo. Also gran turismo coming out on its due date without delays would be the surprise of the year.
Phil @ Jul 2nd 2007 3:28AM
Other-- im going for battlefront III for ps3 NOT for psp. god that game was the best.
Consolcwby @ Jul 2nd 2007 5:34AM
See that?... the devs stated that No GOW3 was being made just yet, and probably won't be for another year or two - AND PEOPLE LISTENED!!! Very good, everyone! Now watch them have a playable demo before E3 ends! =/ (It would be like a dev to lie....)
John @ Jul 2nd 2007 12:38PM
Ive held of buying a next gen console until Sega release theres.
And im confident that they will announce it at E3.
Apparantly it had blu ray, motion sensing, rumble, hdmi, a 1TB hard drive, 1080P, a 3.8GHZ 16 core processor, awesome games and only costs 300 dollars
Thats wot i heard
ekbigpimping @ Jul 2nd 2007 9:04PM

Valin @ Aug 10th 2007 9:45PM
In my opinion a FFVII remake would be one of the best moves sony could make. Can you imagine how many fanboys and girls would buy a PS3 just to play this game, it could possibly be the best selling game this generation. But, in all fairness we are FFVII has gotten plenty of sequels and prequels to tide us over.
