Rockstar thanks supporters
Rockstar has taken time to thank the concerned fans, who e-mailed them about Manhunt 2 being halted from release. "We wanted to thank everyone who has taken the time to contact us about Manhunt 2, which we had been planning to release on PlayStation 2, PSP and Nintendo Wii." Rockstar's response continued, "As you know, Manhunt 2 was effectively banned around much of the world, after it was refused certification in the United Kingdom, prohibited in Ireland, and denied an M rating in the United States."
"We are very proud of Manhunt 2 and believe it builds on what the team accomplished with the first title in the series. The game was developed as a horror experience, and to be an M rated title, aligning it with similar horror content created in other forms of media. Unlike many other people, we do no think videogames should be singled out for special treatment from authorities. We hope to have more information for you soon, but in the meantime, we wanted you to know how much we value all of your messages of support."
We couldn't agree more, all forms of entertainment should be held to the same standards. Let's hope it isn't long until that ideal becomes a reality.

Residents in the UK can sign a petition to the Prime Minister to restrict the powers of the BBFC with regard to the banning of videogames
http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Manhunt2/
The petition was created by Bradley Smith and reasons that: "The BBFC have recently refused to rate the videogame "Manhunt 2". As such, adults in this country will never be allowed to play this game. Adults should be allowed to make their own decisions with regard to what videogames they want to play. We all understand that this game is extremely violent and unsuitable for children. As such an 18 rating should have been applied."

Is this the part where we are supposed to feel bad for T2/Rockstar because their hard work isn't going to be released and they won't get paid?
You know what? T2? SCREW YOU, maybe dip into that 50 million dollars Microsoft paid you for GTAIV add-ons.
we all know you're going to get screwed with ManHunt 2, especially when you decide to go with Wii on this. Just dumb the violence down and make it M.

What does GTA IV or how much $$$ they're going to make from it have anything to do with Manhunt 2?
With the kind of attitude like that; "just go along with what the gov't. wants..." the gaming community shows that it doesn't deserve to be treated with the same respect as other entertaintment mediums.

They should release the original Manhunt 2 without no edits exclusively on their website. Bring me the full on violence the way it was meant to be. Available to buy only on the Rockstar homepage. You probably have to drop the Wii version. Nintendo is not mature yet.

Stupid organizations. Why aren't movies, television, and even music held to these standards. Not all gamers are kids with irresponsible parents. Alot of us are adults, mature enough to decide what's appropriate for us to see.

And the game is available here in Austria, lol... i love little twists of irony.

@Kingofwale
You do realise that both Sony AND Microsoft have exclusivty clauses in their contracts...the PS3 version will prolly have some stuff the 360 one doesnt and vice versa...

>What does GTA IV or how much $$$ they're going to make from it have anything to do with Manhunt 2?
other than it's being produced by the same company that I have issues with? ;)
>You do realise that both Sony AND Microsoft have exclusivty clauses in their contracts
From the latest interviews with CEO (or official spokeperson for T2), there's absolutely no exclusive content planned for PS3 version.

Kingofwale, this isn't the time to be a rabid fanboy. They're a company, they can damn well publish on as many consoles as they please. This is PSPfanboy, take the PS3 martyrdom to ps3fanboy and let us address/mourn/whine over this issue in its relevant context.
Yeah, this does suck big time.
