Army of Two video details on-the-spot heart surgery [update 1]
It's a pretty glorious thing to see Trauma Center: Under the Knife and any other FPS combine into what can be described as a horrifying mess. We mean that in the best possible way -- it's a terrifying experience to sit down in the middle of a hectic battlefield so you can operate on your buddy who has a bullet lodged in his stomach, heart, leg, etc. Of course, to get to this juicy footage, you'll have to suffer through 1UP's narrative and discussion with some folk at EA. But even so, it's worth a watch. The footage of the game looks amazing. Army of Two looks to be interesting stuff and we're going to keep an eye on it.
[Update: removed WWII from the FPS analogy -- Army of Two is not set during WWII, but when we think FPS, that automatically springs to mind. Especially under the watchful gaze of EA.]

There's no such place as Montreal BC. Montreal is in Quebec, (QC or QUE), British Columbia is literally at the other end of the country. That's a pretty big error to make. Stupid gametvideos.com.
DxG @ Jul 5th 2007 3:56PM
this game has huge potential.. too bad its multi-platform :/
daniel. @ Jul 5th 2007 12:43PM
yah man. im canadian. thats pretty insulting. you know we have comedy shows that detail the ignorance of americans right? it happens. all. the. time.
game looks ok.
kiki @ Jul 5th 2007 12:46PM
OMG Montreal is in Quebec!! It's almost an insult for them to make that mistake.
Hideo Siegel @ Jul 5th 2007 12:49PM
It's not heart surgry , it's not WW2 and its not an fps. Christ!
borland502 @ Jul 5th 2007 1:23PM
@2
"yah man. im...that detail the ignorance of americans right?"
Look my Canadian friend, if you're going to go off on American ignorance then you might want to pay more attention in English classes. Stef had a good line of attack; you just made me think of one hick calling another hick stupid.
Now back to the topic...isn't the Army of Two premise based on modern events?
kingofwale @ Jul 5th 2007 1:46PM
I'm an Canadian and I wouldn't make a fuzz about it, it was clearly a type. It's not like the reporter described Canada as "Oversea". ;)
it was bad, but it's understandable. Cool game tho. now I have to find someone to play it with. *sighs*, Unless they can do split screen?
Stef Geiger @ Jul 5th 2007 1:56PM
It doesn't matter if it's a typo. That was supposed to be a professional video. It has a glaring error which misinforms everyone who watches it.
PS: You really fuel Borland502's argument about hicks when you type a post like that.
Popfrogs @ Jul 5th 2007 2:11PM
Look interesting but the framerate is hurtin' for certain in some scenes. It's early yada yada, we know.
Triforceowner @ Jul 5th 2007 2:15PM
Because, you know, everyone in Canada knows where Jamestown is and can name the original thirteen colonies. Some people just aren't great at social studies and even more often some people have a deadline and make mistakes when they are working late at night to finish a news story.
pete @ Jul 5th 2007 2:18PM
all who bitch.
let. it. go.
ANthony @ Jul 5th 2007 2:35PM
Idiots, its montreal, QC not BC. Bc = British columbia (Western canaada) Qc=Quebec = Quebec (eastern canada) :|
Bangbang... @ Jul 5th 2007 2:48PM
Am i the only one that's a little disappointed that the actual gameplay footage looks nothing like great trailers they have been showing. Dont get me wrong, I understand the concept of a target render, but the gameplay looks nothing like the trailer. Its like they previewed a pro stadium, and unvailed your highschool practice field.
On a completely unrelated note, Transformers is awesome.
Toby @ Jul 5th 2007 2:53PM
Theres no framerate issues, the video was slowed down to effect purposes. And the guy said the surgery didnt even make it into the game, didnt he? it slows down the action too much.
mccomber @ Jul 5th 2007 3:03PM
Instead of surgery they should just give the downed player a salt tablet and tell them to walk it off. That's what real men do.
SuperGayParade @ Jul 5th 2007 5:12PM
*slaps Nick on the butt* good hustle.
later that night
*pinch*

"you'll have to suffer through 1UP's narrative and discussion with some folk at EA"
I didn't suffer at all, I enjoyed myself actually...
HAHAHA this video shows the 360 version, hows that $600 360 with blue ray doin for ya...
haha
Popfrogs @ Jul 6th 2007 8:19AM
@Toby: If this is the 360 version of the game and the framerate is bad, they can just do what they do for the rest of the 360 games.. set the ImageTearing variable to 1 and forget about it. I watched some friends play Blazing Angels on the 360 and it was horrible, like a PC game with vsync disabled.
BlackFox5 @ Jul 6th 2007 11:53AM
I'll get this game... for the PS3!!
