PSP attempts iPhone-esque makeover
Portals are quite popular on PSP systems. They utilize the system's internet browser to allow easy access to internet applications, such as mail clients and online messengers. The latest takes the design of Apple's popular iPhone, and attempts to transplant it to the PSP. While it certainly looks sleek, the vertical alignment makes the system awkward. Still, easy to follow instructions and a great self-installer makes this one of the better portals to pursue.
Check it out here.

just get an iphone ... its not the same if you cant just touch them.
they need to get rid of that flip screen since it will just become annoying after the 1st time. .. i think most people are smart enough to know that the orientation has changed.

This actually looks pretty cool. Any way you can point us to more of these Andrew?

Is this just for homebrew?

Is this a hack that will void my warranty on my psp and possibly corrupt it and make it not work write or clash with a future update?

How about some other options?
I didn't (or don't) buy into the iPhone hype.

No this is not a hack or homebrew or anything like that. It's basically a website except the pages are stored locally (which is why you need to do an install). I've done the same technique with flash programs myself (games--not trying to emulate iPhone).
It's an interesting concept, but I don't care for the flashy, gimicky iPhone style.

ChrisTek and Epixx made it, it really rocks, I have it, the first version excluded some cool applications though. The new version 1.10 rocks!

yeah, works great,,, for about 5 seconds before the PSP runs out of memory. Disabling and deleting cache didn't help either.
PSP-Retro @ Jul 10th 2007 4:57PM
I did not see any memory errors in the 4 minute demo?
perhaps there is something else to be done to keep you from getting memory errors?
Brandon @ Jul 10th 2007 6:04PM
I kept getting the running out of cache error. Even deleting cache didnt help much. Arent psp portals supposed to be lightweight? If its crapping out every 20 seconds, its not worth the download.

looks great, good job! however, why make the main menu vertical instead of horizontal? doesn't need to be exactly like an iPhone...just needs to be functional and good looking. i would use it more if i didn't have to switch between H and V views.

Lovely...
