Sony to show off PS3 surprises at Leipzig

MCV, the UK video games trade publication, expects Sony to reveal a number of surprises at the Leipzig game conference at the end of August. While Sony have made no specific announcements about possible revelations, MCV already has a few ideas of what we could be seeing in a month's time. Starting with a continent-wide price cut, Sony will then announce a video-on-demand service and Freeview TV features. All rolling out before Christmas.

At the moment this is all just speculation, however. Though David Reeves did say that Leipzig would see the first big peak-season "fireworks", with announcements which will make the PS3 and PSP much more appealing. What surprises are you hoping to see? We've got a whole month to speculate, so get cracking.

I'd like to see them release a firmware update that allows for easier organization of music files. The current system is horrible.

I could think of few things less exciting! I mean, in the UK we get TV through terrestrial, satellite, digital terrestrial, cable and some TV services are emerging over broadband. Please don't waste your time in a saturated market.

video on demand, remote view of said content on psp, dl content to psp playing thru new video out feature, update 2.o(might be announced in tokyo), release dates for some aaa titles, demos and more demos, ummmmmmmm thats all i can think of.

could you mean that the 13% and 1.3% are joke about the game being the 13th!!!!
beside there is gameplay video of FF13... with only 13% you arent even talking about graphic yet...

am sure some ppl didnt notice it before you said it -.-

They're going to announce that from now on, they will stop and think before they say things out loud...
Actually, I think they are pretty much right on with their predictions. It probably won't be anything that affects the PS3 as a whole, just a visit to what we saw at e3 and region specific announcements.
