Metal Gear Solid 4 shows off Eva -- Snake didn't age alone

Eva, Eva ... where have we heard that character's name before? Ah, of course! She was the femme fatale of MGS3. We'll save the remainder of the spoilers of her character for you, but the one thing you should know is that she isn't young, as she fought alongside Solid Snake's predecessor in the third title (everybody now, who is Snake's predecessor? Yes, it's a pop quiz). With that in mind, Konami has released a few shots of Eva to let you know that she's still alive and doing fairly well. Just a bit wrinkly around the edges, which is just fine considering the, you know, marching of time.

Even so, she looks younger than Solid Snake. How did he age so greatly, leaving people like Meryl and Otacon to look almost childish in comparison? Questions to be answered in the game, we suppose. In any case, a bunch of Metal Gear news popped up today, so this is just a taste of everything that's been announced. More on the way, we're sure.

Exactly, and that's only assuming she was only 20 years old when we saw her in MGS3.

Perhaps because it's not the same Solid Snake that her adventures took place with? If I recall correctly, MG2 took place in 1999, and Big Boss bit the bullet (or the fire, to be more precise) at the end of that game.

I think the reason Solid has aged soo much is due to the fact that he is a clone and has aged quicker than a normal human....

I also love the fact that in Snake Eater Eva got the wrong data for the Chinese... Adamski got em good :x

Technically, MGS3 featured "Naked Snake" no? Which meant that Eva was along side "Naked Snake"

Even so, the trailer says something about Nine years ago at shadow moses? How does snake grow that old 9 years after MGS1?

This is, officially, the BIGGEST bombshell Kojima's released since the game was announced. I LOVED Snake Eater, it's my favorite game in the series, but I always saw it as a game that sort of stood alone in MGS canon, sort of splitting the MGS saga in two: Big Boss's saga and Snake's saga. Basically, that while Big Boss's saga explained lots of things about Snake's saga, you really didn't have to play it to understand Snake's story. Oh how GLAD I am that I was wrong!! Eva's appearance makes it clear that Snake Eater is now an ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL chapter in the saga, and I couldn't be happier!! :D

And am I the only one who thinks Eva looks like Sharon Stone? And it's true, she looks GREAT for someone supposed to be in her 70s. Could she have been subject to some sort of super soldier program, like Snake was, one that somehow retarded her aging? Oh, and if she hooks up with Snake during the game, I'd SO Cheer!

hmmm i guess its 2 late to take back the tears that i cryed when you found out about eva at the end of three im thinking they did same thing they did to naked snake to eva shes just a clone. that would explain the reason why she in good shape.

Why are so many people wondering why Slid Snake looks so old. It states quite clearly in previous trailers (narration from Naomi) that Solid Snake's clone make-up is deteriorating. One can assume that's why Solidus looked so middle-aged in Sons of Liberty, despite being roughly the same age as Solid and Liquid (isn't he a year or two older?).

Remember, Liquid was the "perfect" clone. Ocelot mentions that in his phone conversation with Solidus at the end of Metal Gear Solid (Twin Snakes) - Solid Snake was the "inferior clone".

Presumably this means that Liquid would still look fairly hale and hearty had he not been cut down by FOXDIE.

Being a clone of Big Boss, Snake's going through clone degradation. Clones are exact replicas of a living being created with a sample of that being's cells. But there's a problem: cells used in cloning have already aged to a certain degree, so a cloned organism is, biologically, the same age as the "parent". Dolly the sheep, for example, died prematurely because of this. Snake was cloned from Big Boss when he was in his 40s, so, biologically, Snake is around his 80s. It's AMAZING he can actually fight.

Nope, Eva's older by at least 8 or 9 years. Ocelot is barely 18 in Snake Eater. In fact, there's even a scene where, after fighting him, Naked Snake lets him go and after Eva asks him why, he replies that "he's still young." Naked Snake/Big Boss is around 34 Snake Eater, and was around 40 when he was cloned in 1970.

I'd assume the characters that look younger will be explained by the whole nanomachine deal; apparently one of the benefits that we will someday reap from them is a decrease in the affects of aging, since they will be able to repair the damage that happens naturally as we grow old.

I need an honest opinion... Having never played any of the previous MGS games in the series, do you guys think I will like MGS4? The tralier especially the 2nd half was absolutely amazing, the beginning I have to admit, while still visually impressive, I was completely lost on the story line. I like shooters, and isn't MG like a stealth/shooter game? If it is a stealth game I liked Tenchu too... An honest opinion would be great thanks.

@20. Are you serious? F'in A right you'll like this game. Yeah its true I haven't played this game yet. But this is the final of the series. Now I'm going to have to go back and buy the first 3.

...now wouldn't it be nice if they threw the first 3 games on there with all that extra Blu-Ray space? I'd surely pay $100+ for the Quadilogy!

She's older then snake because snake was not in snake eater big boss the guy who snake was cloned from was the main character and Eva was like 32 in snake eater I believe and that took place in the 60's and Medal gear solid 4 takes place in 2014 making her around 72,73 snake the one who was in Medal gear solid 1,2 and 4 and his brother liquid where born in the 70's making snake about 43,44 but has aged bad because of the FOXDIE virus he has that killed liquid.
