whats up with the lack of ps1 games this week. The UK store got like 3 or 4 and the japanese store got like 6 ps1 games this week when I looked this morning. I just don't understand why all the stores get different content.
money_mike_preme @ Jul 26th 2007 2:07PM
love how i checked sony's website and it still has the old us store stuff....i never go to sonys site anymore
Peter J @ Jul 26th 2007 2:08PM
Man,i wish they had a Remote Play PC client.. now i have to wait till im off work to start the download.
TheGuy @ Jul 26th 2007 2:12PM
Bad news for those waiting to play the Heavenly Sword demo, it's really short. Although the demo is 1GB, it's pretty-much the same demo shown at the Gamers Day conference and takes about 5 minutes to complete. Disappointing, but considering how big the demo is I guess they opted for a shorter demo so the network wouldn't overload with everyone downloading a 2GB demo.
Solace @ Jul 26th 2007 2:17PM
i was kinda surprised by how short the demo was too, but then i remembered "oh yeah - it's a demo not the full game" and have played through it a couple of times already, learning some of the combos, playing around with the different fighting stances, and having fun with the finishing moves.
yeah, it's short, but i'd rather have a demo that leaves me wanting more than one that leaves me bummed out and not wanting the game. i mean, isn't that kinda the point of the demo? lol...
apease @ Jul 26th 2007 2:31PM
Is the Metal Gear Solid 4 gameplay video that's on the store new? As for the ps1 games, we got SotN last week, so I'm good for a bit.
steve @ Jul 26th 2007 2:32PM
short or not, i can't wait to finish work... only three and a half hours to go...
derrickgott007 @ Jul 26th 2007 2:36PM
There is no GRIPSHIFT 2.0
Scratch that one from the list.
rsx3.2 @ Jul 26th 2007 3:01PM

OFF TOPIC
Is it possible to have television connection through internet?
I mean Xbox Live has the video on demand market covered wouldn't it be in Sony's best interest to get the tv market. Most people who have PSN have a decent connection so it is possible, right?
Joe @ Jul 26th 2007 3:09PM
I am mad when I heard the Europe Servers would get Crash Bandicoot 2 and Spyro 2 I was wishing the US ones would get the games too. I was planning on buying both games. Now I am stuck with only a demo. Yes it is a good one but still I wanted to buy those games. Also I wonder when the US servers will get the Darkness Demo as of right now it is only on the Europe Servers.

It's called IPTV and it's been around for a number of years already dude. Both PS and M$ have announced hey play to release IPTV services over their consoles within the next year.
mccomber @ Jul 26th 2007 3:24PM

create a UK account and download euro servers stuff or a HK to download asian servers stuff
you only need an email for each to do that
never$$hort @ Jul 26th 2007 3:50PM
Hell yeah... not to shabby of a list there... Of course some of you will still find reason to complain I'm sure.
Stew @ Jul 26th 2007 4:23PM
There is an interesting mistake in the HK store for the title of the resident evil 5....
Michial @ Jul 26th 2007 4:28PM

@ number 10Andy, there is a PS3 TV thing, go to google and search it up, you have to be on your PS3 to access the site. I forgot what its called though sorry, just look up PS3 TV and maybe it might show up.Really my whole day was runined by this short demo, I wanted to place my ass, and play all night like I did for Ninja Gaiden.. But the games still good.. I just wished the demo delievered more..
FrankBilboWinkerToups @ Jul 26th 2007 6:19PM
The download was so slow I had to abandon it. I think I'm going to have to wait a day or so.
Bishop @ Jul 26th 2007 7:23PM
Just played the Heavenly sword Demo ... One Word Awesome!!!
Excellent controls and graphics (looks like the demo was smashed into 720p though)
Also MGS4 Trailer looked fantastic, incredible detail and tons of effect and I don't even like FPS and I'll be playing this one. Don't know how that much detail could fit into the 360 though.
Jenny C. @ Jul 26th 2007 9:03PM
I started the Heavenly Sword demo download at 5:30... it's now 8, and I only have 21% downloaded. Last week, I downloaded Gran Turismo HD Concept and THAT took 3 hours to download... I also have Xbox360 and the downloads are wayyyyy faster. My wireless signal strength is 100%, and my computer isn't slow... so, I'm asking for help here. I just got my PS3 last week... are the store downloads always this slow, or is there something I can do to boost my speed? Please help!!!
brettjr @ Jul 26th 2007 8:01PM
Am I the only one that thinks HS needs a jump button. Or did I somehow over look the button to jump.
I starting playing the demo right after playing Ninja gaiden which relies on jumping a lot so maybe that's it but honestly I can't imagine an action game without a jump button.
Triforceowner @ Jul 26th 2007 8:23PM
MGS4 and Heavenly Sword: that's a nice week.
mccomber @ Jul 26th 2007 10:55PM
Unsurprisingly, the store is getting hit hard right now; normally I have a pretty decent download speed, but it was ridiculous trying to get the HS demo. MGS4 is also taking a long time...
Cagalli @ Jul 26th 2007 11:52PM
Downloading tip: If you get slow downloads on the store, try pausing and then resuming. It worked for me. The HS demo downloaded super slow for me at first, and then I tried that and it sped right up.
Errictshunn @ Jul 27th 2007 9:24AM
Yeah the demo was ok, I dunno how you played that and "loved it" It was decent at best. It is short and it's a basic looking Hack and slash. Alhough the first few times you get a cool combo it looks good, After the 3rd of 4th time it lost it's appeal IMO. The Demo disappointed me. It feels like a poor mans Ninja Gaiden
Jason @ Jul 27th 2007 2:58PM
This was so very disappointing. Especially after such a demo drought. Graphically the game looked good, but the demo was WAY TOO SHORT and it didn't get me interested in playing the full version at all. The camera was weired, too far back most of the time (not very cinematic if you ask me). No jumping, WTF! This game seems like a super shallow, GoW knock-off to me. (And no I don't own a 360, never will, they suck)
Pajama Party! @ Jul 27th 2007 2:09PM
After playing the demo I have mixed feelings about the game. On the one hand, it's beautiful to look at and the combat is approachable, responsive, and deep.
On the other hand it has some serious technical issues. The video tearing is minimal, but it would still be nice to see that taken care of before the final release.
The frame-rate, on the other hand, is atrocious. It can't even manage a solid 30 fps (although for the "Devil May Cry" sub-genre 60 fps is optimal). There are points where the frame-rate dips, the animations become jerky, and it gets impossible to tell what's going on in a crowded fight.
As far as minor gripes go I'll say this: At 30 fps Noriko's hair doesn't look long and flowing when she moves, it looks like the snakes on Medusa's head in Clash of the Titans.
So yeah, mixed reactions. Sterling at Gamespy said this was the demo originally presented at Gamer's Day, so hopefully it means that it's of an older and much improved upon build - because Sony can't afford a single critical slip-up this fall/holiday (on the major 1st-party titles at any rate).
ryano @ Jul 27th 2007 11:16AM
poor man's Ninja Gaiden. that's just sad right there. i'm sure it'll be better once it's out, but man, most people i've talked to say that NG, a 3 year old game is a much better game. from seeing the videos it looks like God of War.....which was never as fun for me as NG. combat was never fluid enough. story good, combat meh.
i'll wait till the game get reviewed.
