80GB landing in stores on August 12th - Probably

According to Amazon.com the 80GB PS3, that was announced at E3 earlier this month, will be released on August the 12th. While pre-orders are not yet available, you can sign up for email alerts for when they finally are. The 80GB package will contain Motorstorm in the box to go with your extra 20GB. Is that worth an extra $100 dollars over the price of the 60GB model? We're still not convinced.

So if you're desperate to spend, arguably, more money than perhaps you should on a PS3 then you only have twelve days to wait. Having said that, however, we wouldn't be surprised if the release date changed once or twice before final release. They're fickle like that.

Don't care about any of this... Gigs DON'T MATTER, It seems that at least half of the PS3 population doesn't realize you can replace the dam HD yourself. Plus I'm glad I have the Emotion Engine and I already own Motorstorm.... SOOOO WHO CARES???

i think its a kick ass deal! why do people keep knocking it. If i wanted a PS3 and didnt already have one, I'd snatch it up. We who already have PS3's didnt mind paying $600 and it only came with 60GB HD and no game!

yeah its a good deal if you dont have a PS3... I was refering to all the people that have a PS3 and complain about this one having 80gig over the 60gig.

HEY! @never$$hort: WTF is up with you??? Don't you want people to BUY MORE PS3s??!! I mean, okay you might be sick and tired of people taunting your purchase - BUT BE COOL - soon they will realise, as you did, that having ANY PS3 IS BETTER than having anything else! Welcome the taunters to the club, and then mention how many gigs YOU'VE UPGRADED TO. Then they'll stfu.

Why dont you wait until it has real games to play and they fix their online if that is even possible. If anyone has ever played online on a 360 or Xbox, Live is just too good. I didnt expect a whole lot with my the PS3 but it ended up being worse than I expected. I wouldnt mind taking the 5 free movies, but they probably suck. I dont buy many movies, its just a waste of money when I can get them online for free. And Motorstorm isnt that fun. It might as well be free, the fun is short lived and the game gets old quick. Anyone thinking about getting a PS3 should wait a while. Wait till possible another price cut or when they get more quality games out there.
